B.E IT : 73%
Work ex- 16 months.
I am interested in Business Management/Marketing field.
Recently I have left job to study for CAT and other MBA exams and I am working on my profile building.
Is there anyway I can build my profile during this time?
I am taking freelance assignments from one start up company.
Thinking to do CFA certification in this period(Jan to Nov) along with my entrance exam studies.Since I couldn't find any good certification Marketing. And CFA will provide me a good financial background.
Are there are any other options/ways which could build my profile.I don't want to take another full time job.

I am an engg grad who is interested to do NCFM course from NSE. I checked the website which had many modules.. And I got few doubts.. Thought of clarifying it from puys..
To obtain NCFM certification is it necessary to complete all the modules??
And I saw that the first module has 5 years validity.. which means I have to take up the test every 5 years huh???
Can anyone provide me the material for APICS CPIM -ist module i.e basics of supply chain mnagement (BSCM). Please friends share teh material if anybody has or tell me from where in pune or mumbai i can get the xerox. I have registered for march test but i dont have material. please reply urgently. Thanks

i am mansi. i wnt to get your advice on my profile. i am btech graduat in comp scienc and engineering(2011) and since july 2011 i hv been working in a startup( a packaging company) as sales manager. now what i was asked in my imt -g interview was why did i get into mechanical sctor and not it.i could not justify that very well...could u guide me as to what shud be my answer in such a situation..personally i joined in there bcz there were no campus placements at my college that year.

Certifications: SAS Base Certified, SAS BI Content Developer Certified.
Am planning to apply for Executive MBA later on and thus need your suggestion on profile development. My target would be in the field of IT management. Are there any particular certifications that I can look forward too.
I have heard about the CABM certification but am not sure about its value in. Some elevate it to be a very good pre-MBA profile development module while others are quite skeptical regarding its advantage. So can you help me out with this dilemma?

I recently came across this website while I was doing some research work regarding my future career options and I believe people currently in this particular thread can guide me well.
I completed my Btech in 2012 in Computer Science and currently I am working in Samsung India as a Software Developer. I have a total experience of 8 months till date. My 12th % is 78.6, my 10 % is 83.6, Btech CGPA : 8.81.
I actually want to pursue MBA in finance and want to leave the job. I would be appearing for MBA in 2014 and probably willing to leave my job by next two months. Now my basic concern is about 1.5 years of gap which I would be having after leaving the job and appearing for the cat. I want a suggestion that if I do any kind of certification course in finance during these 1.5 years , will it be helpful for me to evade from that GAP reasons which would be asked during the interview process?
My second concern is, if the answer to the above question is yes, then what are the certifications programs currently available that would be recognized and would be appreciated or would add value to my CV and would help me in getting admission into a good institute. I know two of the certification programs 1) learnwithflip.com and 2) CFA. If i do few certifications from learnwithflip.com and I clear CFA level 1 exam, would that be helpful.
Please Please do guide me. I am in a very difficult situation right now.

Leaving a job to prepare for MBA is not advisable at all. In an MBA, one of the many things you will be expected to do is prioritize. A lot of people prepare and work simultaneously. Such people are bound to have an edge during the overall selection process.
If you are so keen on finance, why not look for a job in the space now, work for a couple of years and then pursue higher studies? This way, you will have demonstrated your commitment to the field by the time you apply. Furthermore, you will know for sure whether you 'really' want to build a career in finance.
Of course landing a job in a difficult market with no background isn't easy. But please understand that even firms that you'd want to work for post-MBA will much rather prefer some pre-MBA experience in the space.
You come across as a smart person, and age is on your side. You might want to consider picking up solid skills in the domain of your interest and then layering it with management education. This way, your higher studies will be more fulfilling both professionally and personally.

Since then i worked for 21 months as systems engineer in Infosys Technologies Limited at Hyderabad and then As Module Lead at CDAC, Noida( Profiles were of Production Support and Quality Management). I gave my CAT-2012 and got 96.69 percentile. I have converted IMT G(FT) and waiting for IIT Roorkee and IIT Chennai.
I will be relived from my current job by 8th April and since then till the course commencement I am having 2 months of free time. I was planning to do PMP and Six Sigma Green Belt Certifications in those 2 months. And since i want to go for profile in Consulting/Strategic management I wanted to know whether the above mentioned certifications would be helpful.
Any Insights on my problem would be helpful. Also any extra knowledge of different certifications would be helpful which could be of help to my profile and the one I am looking forward to.
