for dec 2012 level 1 exams delhi, mumbai and banglore are the centres in India, u can pick any one as per ur convenience and avalibility.
is it possible to get the original CFA institute ebooks online? i cant seem to find them. I have the schweser notes and video lectures but still want the cfa institute ebooks. I have not registered yet and dont intend to till august with $ going at 54 :-(
All the books by cfa institute are not in pdf format but some other format, the duplication of that format is not possible though it can be converted to pdf but while conversion the name of the owner of the book appears at the top of each page. the reproduction of such book if sighted by the CFAI might also lead to cancelation of the candidature for a candidate. Apart from this the other problem is huge size of book, each is around 1GB so its not possible to send across mail. i will suggest that u wait for the CFA books till u register, till then continue with schweser books and once u get it start preparing from them and hope dollar falls significantlly sooner.

u can download cfa l1 cfa curriculum from size of cfa l1 2012 curriculum is quite large ~1.3 GB

Also I dont have a passport..anyone here has any idea on how much time it takes to get a passport? If I have to register by august..(3 months) will I get it by then?? I am expecting to get a job placement in USA..(main reason to do cfa) after cfa level 2(planning to give in june 2013..) am I being unreasonable?? what are the chances of a person who has no work experience whatsoever and is a cfa level 2 clear to get a job in the states?? any one having any idea about this please please help me out...thanks in advance
ur are correct,u can apperar for the L1 exams in dec 2012. but u need to have passport at the time of registration. generally it takes anywhere between 45-120 days for the passport to get ready. As far working in US is concern, as per my knowledge getting a job with a graduation in commerce and CFA L2 will be really difficult, the safer option is to work for 1-1.5yrs in india with a finance firm(get some experience), clear L3 and then apply for job in US, that ways u will have better shot at getting a good job. There are people in the market with a MBA in finance and CFA which have better shot at jobs than graduate candidates, the only way to get over them is with the real time experience of the industry. (All this as per my knowledge, many ppl might have some more knowledge and alternate view so talk to ppl who are in the indusrty they have actual info rest all is speculation.)
I recently bought CFA level 1 dec 2012 notes from Om centre.. nice print quality , 1100 Rs. Actually i initially gave him my address of pune but since most of the time i am at office so thought i might miss the parcel. So afterwards gave my hometown address in gujarat. anways due to miss communication on my part ,the notes ended up being delivered at both the address .
LONG story short , I have 2 copies of CFA level 1 material for Dec 2012. If anyone wants it for 1000 Rs , then PM me ur details. thanks
PS: courier charges will be born by me,around 400 Rs..So anways am loosing out 500 bucks overall... but still it will reduce the damages..
