pallav1991 SaysIts quite easy once u start...its basically the compound interest formula dat we know since high school....the TI BA 2 plus makes all the calculations insanely easy...just start and u will get hang of things....btw how did u finish the session 1...its soo boring plus u cant remember it till dec...I plan to do it in the end...

ya for me 2 session 1 was extemly boring,( n tht 2 i m frm science bckgrnd)bt still i tried 2 rem d ethics thr examples tht r given...jst try only 2 code of ethics per day otherwise u 'll forget them all...i did this way..

I am planning to appear for CFA L1 either in Dec 2012 or Jun 2013 and I need some guidance from the seniors.
- How much time does it take for one to prepare for CFA L1? I know it is a very broad question but considering that I devote 2 hrs everyday and have a decent grasp of finance but very low level understanding of economics and accounts, please advise.
- I checked on the website and the cost comes out to be $95 more than the lowest price. If I appear for Dec exam (and hopefully clear it), will I be able to appear for Jun 2013 L2 exam? - and will I be eligible for the lowest fees, or will have to pay $95 extra again?

6 months is more tthan enough for preperation.
And yes for L2 also u will have to pay the $95 more than the lowest fees amount if ur applying for June 2013, as u can apply only after u get ur results for L1, which is generally around Jan end, by then the fees is at $95 more than the lowest fees.
Yes the curriculam is in pdf format and you can also find links for download by running query in EBOOKEE ...a search engine for ebooks..........uu wil find many dead links b4 u find the real gem.......hope this will help u....
The dispute between CFA institute and ICFAi has been resolved..........and CFA 1 exam will be conducted in India normally.........CFA1 december exam center is there in India..................!!!yupieeee........!!!
