then got into markets and then the urge to do something in this industry! so CFA-1 is better than finance MBA any given day! but one needs to have commerce back ground to excel!
to all you guys, CFA exam is looking for logic than any thing else in thier exam! i dont reco schweser or what ever it is called! take some time, read the entire CFA material, it will be good, the material is of vvvv good quality! i have given it this time, im not too good n FRA! i hope i can pass this time or else with better prep next time!

Buddy if you have seen schweser mocks..........can you compare the level of those mocks with the real CFA paper???

i think L1 mocks are kinda comparable but the most imp thing about them is that they give you practice.

@[566884:mba4mheart]: i didnt actually go through a lot of mocks but if you read total syllabus completely then the paper is peice of cake! but compeleting the syllabus is the most biggest pain! schweser could then be used for revision! i think CFA themself gives out mock, they are good enuf to get the feel of exam!

i want to do international cfa, and looking forward to December exam and i am living in Indore.. my problem is that from where i should take cfa coaching i am very confused, please help, or i should prepare by my self, my background is engineering.
i found some institutes at my city providing cfa coaching classes, but there are only 3 institutes and the no. of students in Indore those are opting cfa are very very less.
shifting to another city is not a problem
also tell me how much important is the coaching, do i need the best coaching center, do i need to shift to another city...or i can do it from anywhere...

I am planning to write the CFA L1 in december. I am from bangalore and I have engineering background. I looking for people in bangalore who are studying for CFA L1 so that we can create a group. I called the laxmi xerox they told me that material for december is available and they can deliver it to bangalore and cost will be 1100/- .I saw other people are telling the cost is 1200+500=1700/-.So i am not sure now whether I called the genuine shop or not.This is no where I called 022-26134350 and this is address I found after google search

i have no idea how to start the prep..and how to get the study materiel and what type of exam will be, and when and where to apply...
If your knowledge of finance is not that good, it might be a good idea to go for some form of coaching rather than to rely on complete self study.
However, I find it pretty strange that a computer engineer would want to get into finance rather than concentrate on the IT or Telecom sector. That, of course, is your decision and choice and I am in no way trying to discourage you. Just trying to motivate you to think carefully before taking such a step.
Besides all this, you will need CFAI curriculum (which you will get from CFAI once you register) and some notes (probably schweser).
I would suggest you to buy the schweser notes from Om or other provider (cost would be less). You can start with a few topics, see what is your understanding level and then take a decision to register or not for Dec. This way you can have an idea of your own capability before committing money.
