I think SriLanka is the nearest test-center from chennai, so I am planning to book flight tickets in the 2nd week of february. In case if anyone is planning to book flight tickets to Srilanka for writing CFA Level-1 2010 exam, we can do the booking together and go as a gumble. Please let me know if any one planning to go together. By the way this is Vishwanath
Hi Guys,
As Viswa Said, I checked the Flight Cost from Chennai to Columbo. Its Just 7K. So i think that a good option for South Indians. Only Doubt i am having is Abt Visa.
Do we require visa to go to Srilanka? did anyone enquire abt that?
Are you from Hyd? I tried to call u once. And Yeah i am also thinking that srilanka is nearest and cheapest also. I check Flights from Chennai. Its just 7000 for TO and FRO. All others place are above 15K.

Full email:
Dear CFA candidate, As you may know, the Delhi High Court has given us provisional permission to register candidates for the CFA exam in India on Sunday, 06 June 2010. This means that you may request a change to a test center in India. However, the court could reverse this provisional decision and require us to cancel the exams in India. In the event of a cancellation, candidates registered for an India test center will have three options: 1) Receive a refund of applicable CFA Program fees. 2) Defer registration to a future exam date outside of India. 3) Request a test center outside of India for the June 2010 CFA exam. If you are considering a request to change to an India test center, we urge you to be aware of the risks, and to carefully consider the uncertainty of the situation. All test centers have limited seats, and test center change requests are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that if you request a test center change, your requested test center may not be available if it is already at capacity. We wish to remind you that we were unable to administer the December 2009 Level I CFA exam in Kathmandu as a result of unrest. The risk of unrest continues, and we urge June 2010 CFA candidates to plan to sit for the June 2010 exam at a test center other than Kathmandu if possible. If you would like to request a test center change, please visit our website. We will post any updates to www.cfainstitute.org/india. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at www.cfainstitute.org/contactus. Sincerely, CFA Institute
I have a query regarding Fee Structure of CFA Level-1. If I want appear for CFA Level-1 during June 2010 then at present I will have to pay $1110(which includes program enrollment and exam registration). God Forbid if I am unable to clear the exam during my first attempt and want to re-appear for December 2010 then what will be the amount that I will have to pay? Its mentioned that I won't have to pay the program enrollment and curriculum fees. Excluding that amount what exact Exam registration fees will I have to pay in that case? In other words I want to know that curriculum fees constitutes what %tage of Exam registraion fees?
Finally India is one of the centers I am very happy that they have given Bangalore as the center, I was worried about travelling to other countries, booking tickets , hotels etc, Now we can just concentrate on preparation
@ All if you have still not known the news regarding the centers, They have added Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai , Kolkata and Bangalore
@suyash_rix: Now you dont have to go too far from Joka to take CFA
((((-Thru some post I understand that material provided by cfa institute covers study material for all the three levels If so, how much is relevant for Level 1))))
Hi Risin east
Could you please give some light on above mentioned lines. As far as I know, the curriculum (CFA Official Material) comes separately for each level.
hey I am planning to register for the June CFA in the next cpl of days. Hi guys...I got the same mail from CFA institute regarding test centre being in india. But As you said, there are five test centres Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkota,Chennai and Bangalore, I don't see this information anywhere, june 2010 test centres pdf doesn't show test centres in india...I want to give bangalore as test centre...Plz tell me the city/state/country (may be in code) which we have to write in comment field for test centre change request...
Hi Guys, I had a question. If the test center in Kathmandu is cancelled, then will I get the option to reschedule my exam to December. I already have bought the tickets to Kathmandu and can't cancell it.

yes , in case of a cancellation of a centre they would give u 3 choices
1. full refund of money 2. deferring the exam , to december or june next year 3. changing ur test centre ( i suppose that 75 days rule doesnt apply u can change ur centre if there is such an emergency as a centre being cancelled)
