U read a bit wrong....earlier they didn't even use to send the books! You had to pay for them separately. Now they have started doing that atleast. No CDs are sent.

There is no best suited schedule. Raste anek hain...lekin upar wala ek hain!
I am going by CFA Institutes recommendations. 1 study session in 8-10 days(should be one week, but I am making short notes by myself).
I will go for Schweser, etc. only after I have finished reading every damn page of the curriculum. Don't want to give them any excuse fr failing me!
It's not too difficult. I don't try to memorise everything. Just understand them, note down the doubts wid page numbers on a single page somewhere (I write down on the book itself; I am waiting to discuss it with you guys), and when I make extremely short notes in my own handwriting(1 page, counting both the sides, 2 pages for each study session),I remember it better. I will keep taking a look at my notes to rem what all those abbreviations stand for!
I plan to have no more than 36(18 sessions * 2, maybe 40) pages of notes for the entire curriculum.
That will finish Phase I of my strategy.
That's my rustic style of studying. No short cuts.
Any1 fr Dec 09 attempt?
Hello guys, I have started from today. Bought schweser Notes as well.
I am thinking that we should form a group with sunday meets where we can discuss all about the preparation, doubts and all...
Pls PM me your mail id so dat we can be in touch n start as soon as possible
Most people won't have even registered for the june 2010. Some might be waiting for the paper to be held in India and other reasons and all and there can be some location constraints as well. We can make a google group as of now and discuss everything over there.

Hi Sneha,
While registering for CFA, it shows 2 payment modes One is by cheque and the other is online payment by credit card.
You enter the card details as you would do normally while making any other online transaction. But please check and verify your billing and shipping adresses before you say 'Confirm Order'.
After you are done with this, it will show a receipt of your payment and one copy of the same receipt is mailed to your provided mail id.
Hey guys,
I registered on 31-Aug. But when I checked the status of my shipment it shows Not Shipped.
How about other people?
i registered on this Sunday and today it still shows not shipped. in how many days did ur status changed from not shipped to being shipped or given a tracking number from the date on which u registered?

The tracking number is mentioned in the receipt you receive from CFA in ur mailbox.
You can use that number and check on the UPS website. It shows details about when was your package dispatched and where your package currently is.
I received my material within a week's time.
Hopefully you shud receive yours by next Sunday else drop them a mail on [email protected] mentioning your candidate id.
Hi Puys,
I am planning to write CFA Level 1 in June 2010. But when I tried to register for the same, I couldn't find India, in the list of test centers for June '10. India is shown as a test center only for Dec '09 CFA Level 1.
In some of the earlier posts, I saw many people have successfully registered for June '10. Can anyone through some light on how to go ahead with the registration process?
Hi,
I will be giving CFA -US charter exam in june 2010.
I am an economic honours graduate with 17 months experience in business research and analysis.
Would companies be taking me in financial analyst job.
Can someone tell me of relevant companies where i can apply in delhi/ncr region.
Nitin
Nitin,
U possess kind a good experience required for Analyst positions. The chances of an experienced guy as in your case is more as compared to a new entrant.
See there are many commerce/economics graduates who get into research analyst positions but at the junior levels. But after CFA you become a niche resource in this industry as you have an accredition of your skills from one of the prestigious institutions. With CFA the chances of getting into the IB industry increases and that too if you are lucky enough might join at some respectale position.
But finally it comes to performance and how you use the skills you have learnt in your job that will pay-off in the long run.
Hope I have answered your queries...
:-)
Ross_ SaysHello Guys, d first deadline for registering june xam is 23rd sep. I havnt registrd yet but will register around 18th of sept. I want to know dat is dere a probability dat due to late enrollment i will not b able to get kathmandu center as wel??
Ross,
I don't think that if you register late you won't be able to find the test center of your choice. And newyz you are doing by first deadline so you are not late....
There are 2 more deadlines to be passed and then its late
:-)
Hi All!
I am also planning to give the CFA exam in June 2010. Initially I was planning to appear in december 09, but I have my term paper submissions in the first week of December.
I have been in touch with a friend who has cleared Level 1 and 2. He had used Kaplan Schweser notes. Once I register for the CFA, I believe all the study material will be sent across to me from the CFA Institute as well.
Which study materials will you guys be following?
Cheers!
Best of Luck to all!
Kushagra
PS: I am currently enrolled in the masters program in econometrics and economics at LSE.
