@TinasWorld Hi Tina, order the scheweser books right away. These notes will suffice for all subjects of Level 1, except ethics which you must study from the CFA book. Coaching will surely help but it is not essential. I suggest you :i) glance through the notes, get some familiarity with the topics and assess your comfort level in each of the subjects ii) estimate the amount of time you can put on the subject that you are least comfortable with. Level 1 is fairly easy. You can post your doubts in this forum; fellow puys will help

Hey, can you please tell from where i can get the scheweser notes!!

Puys,

Apart from the Schweser notes, what are the other good online resources that one should use to improve learning experience? Also, I have heard that there are various strategies to prepare like starting off with a particular lesson which is common across many modules etc. Can any1 please throw some light on this?

Thanks.

@harry3153 hi like messi mentioned, u can got notes from om xerox or laxmi xerox (09819024256). Check for the quality of the prints.

currently i am reading ethics from schweser notes........where can i find cfa book on ethics????
@katewinslet hi i guess you get the CFA books from the CFA Institute only. During the registration process, there will be an option to register for these books also.
Has anyone ordered Scheweser 2013 material from Om Book Shop?
What is the cost (courier included) and contact no.?

Anyone from Noida/Delhi joining any coaching or interested in group-study?
Please PM...

hi actually i haven't enrolled with cfa institute yet and i am planning to enroll in january.....so in the meantime can i read ethics from the scheweser notes or are they completely useless for ethics???
@katewinslet they arnt completely useless..you can do your one time reading from scheweser..but do the final reading from the CFA book..atleast thats what helped me clear the subject..
@techack Hi I have ordered CFA Level II books from om book shop..these are spiral binded books.. I think the hardbound books will come in the second half of december..the cost was Rs 900 for the set..the contact no: 9833591215

is it compulsory to have passport for applying to CFA level 1...now they have centres in india also so now also is having passport mandatory

@techack Hi Dude... 09833851455...1000 including Courier..am yet to receive...so cant comment on the quality..

Thanks for ur replies @neeupp and @messidbarca ...
@messidbarca : Plz comment on the quality and the time taken to deliver once u receive them...

@techack Hay got the material..and he sent L-2 instead of L-1...quality is good...so be specific when you tell him...specify L-1 10 times...it took 6 days to reach Chennai..

i think going through the last pages gives one a small idea about cfa

but there is that question unanswered

...................CFA vs FRM???................

plz shed some light

CFA is for equity markets while FRM is for Debt markets. Given the scope of equity markets, CFA is always a better proposition unless you are specifically looking for Debt markets.

hey. I am a btech grad, in software field, but this year itself i will b doing my mba from a tier II college, very much eager to enter investment banking profile, will CFA certi goona help me in this??
If you are specifically interested in IB, go for CFA without a second thought.. CFA alongwith MBA is a very good combination for getting into IB industry.
