One thing which i need to tell you is that you can not give gamma and delta together. Infact if you do online registration then it will only give you option of appearing for Gamma. Once you clear Gamma, then in case if you want you can do delta and epsilon at one go.

thankx for ur prompt reply Babu. but i wanna make a point here. i was able to register myself for Gamma & Delta exam as the registration for was showing both the groups and i was also able to check both with the fees of Rs. 1600. i aslo thought that i wud not be eligible to appear in delta untill i finish my gamma but ICFAI people even had sent a mail to me quoting that i can appear in both the papers simultaneously. thats y i asked u that wud it b feasible for me to appear in Gamma & Delta together.

so once again asking for some gya on this problem from you people , please guide me.
thanx

Yes, MS finance leads to CFA charter from CCFA. All the best for your regular CFA. The first batch of MS finance regular graduated this year with 100% placements.

One of my friends have graduated this year from Regular MS finance. He is been placed in IL&FS; Investsmart mumbai HQ as technical analyst. If you want to contact him, do PM me. I will give his email and phone number

Thanx dude for the update. ICFAI counsellor told me you can appear for 2 groups within same level. But you are right. I have checked out the dates and it is possible for a student to appear for Gamma and Delta together as dates are not clashing.

Coming to your main question whether it is feasible to appear for gamma and delta together:

1) It is directly proportional to the efforts i.e number of hours studied. Delta involves case study and essay type question. So you need to make a trasition from fully objective type patterns to mix objective-subjective type patterns.

Can you give atleast 3- 4 hours daily till July 30 for studies?
thanks a ton:) babu 4 responding to the post. have sent u a PM if u could plz do reply. take care

You are not allowed to take your own formulae book. The same Formulae and tables book which you have got will be kept in the examination hall and you need to use that. For every 55 students (average) in the hall, there will be around 6-8 formulae books :satisfie:

Hope i have resolved your query.

PS: Keep us updated regarding the Rs 800 mystery

O I SEE!
YEAH mate solved the mystery. no problem.

Hi Babu,

I am B.com(P) pass out & I want to pursue M.B.A. in Finance from a reputed B-School. Moreover I`ve enrolled for CFA Course for July examination. Would you tell me what kind of work ex I can undergo so that it`ll help me in pursuing my M.B.A ? I got an opportunity to work under a C.A. Should I consider this job or I should go for some job in the banking sector or something related to stock ?

Working under CA will be helpful to you as you will get exposure in book keeping, auditing etc. It will be regarded as relevant experience if it is a full time job.

Why try for small things guys !! Just try asking ICFAI counsellors if there is someway in which you can give once consolidated paper for all the 9 groups together in 1 day. Fir to ek saath hi CFA khatm ho jayega na !!

I had heard ki sabr ka fal meetha hota hai....have u heard of something like that ?

Regards,

Tumtum.

Hip Hip Hurray ! 300th post in CFA ICFAI thread in short span of time i.e 2 months. Apart from initial hiccups, this thread is doing really good and every day i see some new people coming and making a post here. But we should more concentrate on things like:

1) Strategies for exams: I can count atleast 5 people on this thread appearing for Gamma in July 2006. We can discuss about subjects or any particular problem in material.

2) Career path: Share successful CFA ICFAI stories which you can find from net or in case if your friends have completed the course and found job

3) Different openings: I contacted one of my friend who is a analyst in evalueserve. He told me that evalueserve is hiring close to 600 people in next 5-6 months and CFA stand a good chance as 70% of hiring will be in financial analysis domain.

Regards,
hey!! I had always been on the lookout for other ICFAI members, esp those pursuing CFA. So glad u started this thread. Was referred here by Akhil Baveja.

Hey Anand, for EL i just read through everything and then do the work book immediately after i finish a lesson. I make a note of all the important points in a separate notebook (like the sections and stuff) and on the side of the respective para in my textbook. Thats about it! its how i studied for Beta also. oh yeah i also mark out the problems for which i hav to look up the solution. helps during revision.

My strategy is also similar to Ketaki one. I read the lesson fast and then do questions from workbook. Part B problems EL 1 is different and needs lot of revision. I dont try to remember the Section as it is objective type and section is not asked but try to remember the particular of every case which are given in section B: problems.

Workbook is bible and needs lot of revision to do well in exams. I havent started with ES 2.

Anand, where you based in delhi? I am at south patel nagar.
