referring to Babu's Gamma update, I would like to suggest a book on taxation by VK Singhania & Monica Singhania and Bharat's Guideto Direct Taxes for clearing your concepts.
Actually we have studied these concepts in our graduation ( for commerce grads) buut thenthe level in graduation is not that tough. However, be very careful of becoming complacent that you can beat it easily in GAmma because its a bit on the tougher and tricky siode here.

Welcome sunny. CFA course structure have gone massive changes in last 2 years and i think this is good as they keep on changing course structures, curriculum as per economy and corporate needs.

Ok guys this is for those guys appearing for October Alpha & Beta
I Started on 14 th June the numericals , abt to finish today .
Worked out all sums on text book and work book. (Theory only in the last)
The subject is easy expect for a few chapters where it is tougher in one book than the other.
Tought Chapter is : Branch A/c (Sums are always silent) , Bills Receivable in WB(Work Book ) --- the sums are big and time consuming . Rectification of errors in text book & are g8 . May be if guys appearing for October u can ask ur questions ....
Babu looks like u r busy studying in nights , me too . All the best , i know tax very well may be if u have doubts i can help . Do u have to read the entire AAS IAS & GAAP thorougly ??? (Mug it up or just go thro)

Good going. Keep it up. Read the accounting standards. There will be 1 type mark question from accounting standard. You have covered big chapters which carries lot of weightage and thats good.
I am not coming online in night. Voice chat is due and as you have exams in October we can do anytime. I have to put some good effort from now on so as to get decent 60 + in every paper in July 06.

Ask for a CFA prospectus by contacting delhi office and take it from there. Fees is arnd 57000 inclusive of one time Examination fee for CIIA (Certified International Investment Analyst)

Yes Tumtum. Thats new thing ICFAI started effective from April 1, 06. Earlier fees was around 50 K but now its 57 K which includes one time $ 300 international exam CIIA fees. They want every guy who cleared L 2 to sit for CIIA international exam.
I think it is a marketing tactic. They are offering CFA + CIIA a combo package making student first regional expert through CFA and then international investment expert through global body i.e ACIIA.
What about your CIIA plans, tumtum? Did you sat for exam and passed or still planning to book date?

Today, i recieved CD-ROM for beta -2 CDs. One for QM, one for FM. Simply incredible !
It contains e-textbook, e-lectures, notes, quiz, articles and additional readings,glossary and mock test with graphical analysis and time limit.
E-lectures is like you are sitting in classroom and a human voice is explaining you chapter while you are looking at slides. I am done with beta preparation, otherwise e-lectures would have been a perfect way to start the chapter.
I am also impressed with mock test. Overall, what a great product from a private university. Can delhi University (DU) , ICAI, ICWA, ICSI match this innovation?
The way ICFAI designed , conceptualised and delivered the CFA product to masses is outstanding. The upgradations which they do every year like CD-roms, internships, CIIA guidance etc is commendable.

hey babu, that simply sounds great. But i would like to know from you that did u paid anyhting extra for those CD Roms and e-learning package? as i guess u too have enrolled at the same time when i enrolled that was around march last year. And I suppose we both paid the same fees that is Rs 45,800. Now if there is some discrepancies in the above information please clear my doubts.
