Hi,
Dont worry about huge material. Once you get the concepts you will be able to solve the questions in workbook. In demand and supply (Micro economics) i think there are 100 + questions in workbook. 10-15 questions will be based on single platform concept each requiring distinct approach but the rest of the questions (80-85) will be based on them.
Just PM me your email id. i will send you all latest papers of Alpha.
I am from south patel Nagar. Where are you based in delhi?
I feel this is the key for CFA exams apart from self motivation:
Recalling a fact, is what studying is about. Remember, though, that knowing something also means being able to predict a previously unknown outcome from a collection of other, sometimes non related facts. But for our purpose, remembering and recalling the subject matter and concepts in the textbook will tell your teacher how much you have learned in class. As much as you may dislike it, recall is best accomplished by REPETITION. Sorry about that. Drumming a fact into your head repeatedly is still the best and fastest way to remember something. As far as we know, remembering is a process in the brain which sprouts dendrites like branches on a tree to grow connections between synapses. To physically grow a connection takes time and is facilitated by repetition. The learning process proceeds in a 'stairway' fashion. At first there is a long plateau with little learning taking place. Then, suddenly, progress is made in numerous little steps. This is followed by another plateau and further little progress steps thereafter. It may look akin to this:
This is a completely natural process which cannot be changed. Observe a plant leaf very closely under a microscope and you will find that it grows in little steps at a time, with longer pauses in-between, until the maximum size is reached. Only you know where your maximum potential lies
Today, i recieved CD-ROM for beta -2 CDs. One for QM, one for FM. Simply incredible !
It contains e-textbook, e-lectures, notes, quiz, articles and additional readings, glossary and mock test with graphical analysis and time limit.
E-lectures is like you are sitting in classroom and a human voice is explaining you chapter while you are looking at slides. I am done with beta preparation, otherwise e-lectures would have been a perfect way to start the chapter.
I am also impressed with mock test. Overall, what a great product from a private university. Can delhi University (DU) , ICAI, ICWA, ICSI match this innovation?
The way ICFAI designed , conceptualised and delivered the CFA product to masses is outstanding. The upgradations which they do every year like CD-roms, internships, CIIA guidance etc is commendable.
God bless ICFAI and CFA's too :)

Hi Niranjan,
I am in delhi. I have not cleared beta and in case if i am not able to clear beta this july, i will need CDS's till october, the next attempt. I am sending you email (Through PM) of one bangalore guy who is appearing for L 1 exams. May be can help you out.
You should email student services department and request CDs. They do listen and understand genuine request.
Hope preps for July exams are going on well for you all.
Well I have a small query for the Mumbaikers!! Could anyone please tell me if there are any coaching classes for CFA (ICFAI) being conducted in Mumbai. I am talking about private tutors and not the ICFAI contact classes.
And guys, have been going through threads, having done CFA, I can assure you that while the course may be a little tough, for all those who are doing it especially those who enjoy the subject of Finance, the course is extremely rewarding in terms of the inputs and recognition.
Dear ... well its your very individual thinking. i hope others will have different views. If i join one group, doesn't mean i can't post in another. its about gaining the maximum then it doens't matter if it comes from one forum or two.. secondly everybody may not be very comfortable with opening the forum, separately logging here & then posting.. while one can simply put an email from his own mail a/c there by simply clicking on COMPOSE MAIL. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/CFA-ICFAI-UNIVERSITY/ so i hope many will join.. to gain the maximum & to share the maximum. Best of luck Sumit K. Gupta
No hard feelings Sumit , I am myself a member of that group 😃 Just that no linking of other forums board rules By the way u r doing a g8 job on ur articles
We should check out different groups and if we can get 300 members in every group, then checking 3 groups means reading 900 members ideas, thoughts and strategies about CFA.

Well Babu.......your theory sure holds right if its not "mere" repitition aimed at boosting the memory till exam date and then be flushed off in one go. Simply put, it should not be "rattafication" of the concepts. I differ from you in the sense that I definitely did what you say but more than that I focussed on building a strong conceptual base. Once you do that, then I dont think that the rattafication thing you mention is really necessary. In my words, either you are conceptually clear or you arent. There's nothing in between. Repitition may help in the short-run, but its probably useless in the long run. Regards, Tumtum.
