hi guys, i am here to tell an important information. i talked to some icfai folks and to some other relevant people. they said the injunction passed against icfai will not affect those students who got enrolled before 4th august, the day on which the injunction was passed. all those students will get the cfa charter. it is becoz the injunction states that the order wiil not affect the present students and as cfa is a correspondence course just like ca. it does not has an academic session as such. so all previously enrolled students will get the charter.

well i have bumped across this thread kinda late however i think this thread can n must be benefiting a lot of CFA persuers!I am abt to appear for my ALPHA group paper this mnth end.i have been told by few ICFAI ppl tht going trough the last time papers can benefit a lot even at last minute.So i basically wanted 2 knw frm veterans here tht hw much water tht argument holds and especially with regards to paper of Fin Accounting .thnx mates n kindly reply.

Well it has been sum while since the festive season has gone by but 2 my dismay there is still no activity in this thread.Anyways let me tell u all how my first shot on CFA (read alpha level )go.I was supposed to study Fin accounting n Macroeconmics and since both of these subjects were there in my grads i was completely relaxed.However as exams approached and i explored the subjects more i realised rather painfully that it aint a cake walk infact cfa( or MS Finance more appropiately)requires systematic study from cover 2 cover.i have learnt learnt few lessons here hope the vetrens agree:
1)There is no way one can leave solving entire workbook......there is absolutely no substitue 2 that!
2)Past papers help a lot but its ur studies which can only save the day for u!
3)For guys who will appear for alpha grp in near future........this paper is not easy becoz it is objective.......infact its quite tough for the very same reasn!So prepare well.....
Rest of the ammends i will make when i will appear again fr the same grp!

Best of luck for your awaited results, First of all know the nitty-gritty needs to become a fund manager, post comes with Good Education, Exp, and other factors which may differ from case to case.

Yes CFA with its course content may lead to such position but apart from that degree you have to apply your learning in a right channel and have the relevant exp in the kitty.

I could not give exams in October as i was engaged in something else. Preparing again for beta and gamma and hope to clear them to move to next groups.

MS Finance from ICFAI is better known as CFA ICFAI. It is cost effective and reputed course. ICFAI offers placement to all successful students. But, you dont need ICFAI help to get placed as the course is popular and tough one. Your main degree here will be MS finance. You 'might' get a CFA charter too.

About CFA from AIMR, it is almost 4 times expensive then ICFAI. Books and exam centres are always problem.

Choice is yours. If you are fresher, it should not make much difference and i will suggest you to go for MS finance from ICFAI.

But if you an industry veteran and have 3-4 years exp in finance, then go for CFA AIMR.
