Hey can you please clarify point 2. I think we are not supposed to get the work ex certifiate when we appear for GT/PI ...on what basis can we get that from our organization? Having said that, I think it needs to be submitted at the time of joining....right ?

You are suppose to get work ex certificate of your previous employer(if any) and proof that you are currently working with XYZ organization.

I went to one gadzetted officer. He signed my mark sheets, but denoed signing the offer letter. He just put a stamp on that.
Could it be an issue if I submit the offerr letter with just a stamp over it and pay-slips without attestation.(we can't get it attested as we donot get original).
I am a student in Delhi who wish to apply to DoMS IIT Madras.I have all the application completed apart from the attestation of mark sheet from Director.Director is on leave and no deputy is present who can attest them.i really wish to be part of IIT madras and want to apply through JMET. can u plz guide me on what to do on my part? should i send unattested mark sheet ??? I am quite confused please guide me on what should i do. A hopeful student Amit

Payslip as such should be acceptable as many ppl get the payslip in mail and there is no way one can get it attested. But offer letter should be attested as u must have the original offer letter with you. In ur case u can call up the office and confirm if ur offer letter with stamp only us acceptable or not.

Amit, If the director is not available u can get ur marksheets attested from other gazetted officers. Any gazetted officer ll do the work. U only need to carry original docs. In the end if dont find any, u can get it attested from a notary(lawyer) also.

Should d photograph be self-attested or attested by a gazetted officer as other documents need to be?
The photo should be attested by gazetted officer just like all other documents

I do not have a work ex certificate from my previous employer and hence have not sent the same but have sent the offer letter and my last salary slip from my previous employer as well...will that hold good?

Please make a point to read earlier posts before posing your queries. Almost all your queries have been answered earlier. The checklist that was posted earlier is quoted here again. SOP should preferably be typed. A word limit of 500 words is mentioned in the application form, please stick to that. If you r applying for reserved category seats than a proof of category would be required.

That should count for your experience with your current employer and would certainly hold good. But it would help your cause if you could gather some kind of proof for your previous employment by the time you appear for your GT/PI. An appointment letter or a relieving letter or a salary slip; anything should be fine.
Thanks a ton for providing this useful piece of info... Could you please tell me how exactly i can prepare for "Group Task" as i have never participated in group task though i've done gd's n case studies...
Thanks
Generally IIT M conducts Group Task (GT) instead of a gd. In a GT the group is given a task and assigned a role. You are supposed to act as a team and try to propose solutions. For example you would be told that you are IAS officers in some state and need to device strategies to encourage investment. Here you have to work as a team with the rest of the group mates. Your knowledge, leadership skills, team work, communication skills etc will be evaluated during the GT.
PI is generally not stress. Its very general and non technical. Questions would be directed towards your work ex or general questions like ambitions or reason for pursuing MBA etc and some questions on general knowledge. If you are a fresher some academic questions can be expected.
We would write more about the GT/PI process and also post our and our classmates experiences as soon as the calls for the same are out.

Preparing for a GT is not very different from preparing for a GD. You would still be part of a group; you would still need to have some knowledge about the topic and you would have to communicate with the group. Only difference being that you would be striving for a common goal along with your group. It would not be you against them, but it should be you and them as a team. I dont think any of my classmates had any special training or prep for GT. It by and large similar to a GD.
As i mentioned in my earlier post, we would be posting our GT/PI experiences after the calls are out.
