As long as your draft is payable at Chennai and in the favour of the Registrar IIT Madras, there shouldnt be any problems

I am not sure about how the process is taken forward, but logically I believe that they would club all documents from each individual in separate files or bunches, if that happens you should be fine. Otherwise you do have a problem. You should have been more careful dude. Call up and clarify as soon as possible. The number is 044 22574550

I really hope seniors are kind enough to ensure that this mistake does not cost us our chance of getting into the college!

and can you please throw some light on GD/PI process?? will there be normal gd or case study?? and in PI.. i heard that IIT's concentrate on engg subjects and projects in details.. is it correct? do we have to go through engg subjects again(i have work ex.. 2 years.. do i have to )

and also.. what kinda topics will be there for GD.. same like normal private b-schools.. or different kinda topics..???

At DoMS we don't have the conventional GD and PI. We hae the GT and PI. The GT stands for Group Task where your abilities as a manager, planner and strategizing individual are tested. You may be asked to plan a marriage in your home, frame a strategy to convert footfalls into sales in a mall, or make plans to reduce the stress for executives who work in an IT firm. In these roles you must discuss the steps need for completing the task, your plans for it, discuss the problems you might face and then come up with workable solutions. You will also be assessed on your skills of working along with a group. And since its not a GD, you are not expected to shout over the rooftop.

In the PI your profile is scrutinized, reasons are sought for your MBA aspirations, and you need to justify your reasons for the same. Here, the essay describing your reasons for pursuing an MBA from IITM, which is to be send along with the application form also comes into picture. Also, the faculty might try to know why you did such and such a thing in your life or career and again may ask you to justify your reasons. The PI's idea will be to know whether you will fit in as a student in the MBA programme and what sort of value you will add to it when you discuss mgmt concepts and cases in various subjects. They try to look for clarity in your life's goals.

You just might need to have a look at mgmt related subjects in engg or maybe 1-2 of your favourite subjects. Prepare more on your work ex as 2 years of work ex is substantial. The questions in PI should mostly revolve around them.

The likely dates will be mid-Feb to mid-March across the cities mentioned. But nothing is certain now. Wait for the official word on it. Will try to get that from the office.
