I personally dont like Ashwini gujral.. that dude seems a big crook to me..
However there is one guy I admire.. SP Tulsian.. He comes on TV shows and has a website too.. Seems pretty knowledgeable to me 😃

Anybody does intraday trading here?
If yes, then how do you trade... I mean do you trade based on technicals or just the play on instinct

If you play on technicals and have good record then which methods do you use.. any useful websites for the same would be appreciated.

Some amusement BTW

It's gonna eat lot of your time.
Also for making any significant money the operating costs are considerable... charting service, good broker, lots of screen time.

intraday trading is not for beginners

I know it takes a lot of time.. I have been there done that
But I play on instincts .. Wanted to know if any proven technicals can be used for intraday..
Also I dont like to go by broker's advice...:nono:
So if you have any idea about the technical methods then plz tell.

Get started with some good books:

  1. Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques: Steve Nison
  2. Technical Analysis: the complete resource for financial market technicians- Pring
  3. Trading Systems And Methods- Kaufman

Feel free to post back here all type of queries regarding TA... you are likely to get many

No one can "tell you" technical analysis. You have to study and find out for yourself.

I found John J Murphy's book "Technical Analysis of the financial markets" very informative (altho I read only first 100 pages of it)..other than I would recommend Investopedia.com..they have a series of articles on technical analysis..

i am a newbie in intra day trading, but what i always see and have profited from is tht the weak market hypothesis does not work in intra day trading 99% of the time, and i actually made profits from it.

Yup, Murphy's book is very informative. But i didnt find it in the book stalls of Mumbai. Where can i get it?

Try indiaplaza too. One of the cheapest websites around for ordering books.
Will be a good deal if you have a credit card with a good scheme.

how much useful is technical analysis overall...compared to fundamental analysis..when I was in college..most of the guys said that companies and brokerage firms usually recruit fundamental analysis guys and market technicians are just for supporting their (fundamental analysis guys') view points and that no firm trades solely or majorly based on the news of technical guys..

For a fact, very few exceptionally good books you will find in India that pertains to trade. The world renowned books are pretty costly except a few ad most Indian book stores don't take the chance and bring them here.
More often then not I order stuff from outside. Its way much easier and the books are actually worth the money you pay.

Need some help.

I need a way to see daily history of the Indian Stock Market from the past.
Stock Market history of Daily gainers and Daily losers (in percentage and real price terms) over a considerable period of time.
Even a paid subscription would do but a free subscription would be preferred.

Would be a great help.

Thanx in Advance.
