@swethapretty one year mba? (not an exec mba) or part time mba (the real executive mba)
@onetwokaone part time mba real executive mba

Hi,

I am a software professional with 2+ years of experience in software development. I am planning to do an executive MBA in Information systems through distant education. Please let me know the best B-schools that offer this course and how do I get into it. Also, what are the career prospects considering my current experience in IT. Please suggest.
I have Sikkim Manipal University in mind right now. Does anyone know about their admission procedures and other details?
Please advise.

Thanks
@Rashu_15 SMU does not have UGC accreditation right now, do not go there.
I am working in a manufacturing firm as a quality engineer with a work ex of 1.5 year. I have done my b.tech in electronics and communication. I now want to switch to HR and looking forward to do ONE YEAR MBA or PGDM program from a good bschool. can anyone suggest and help me decide.
@priyanka017 You can check the list in immediate previous page (#11) in this thread for all 1yr MBA/PGDM options in the country. Most of them have a criteria of 5yrs work exp (except ISB, Great Lakes, Praxis & SOIL which have eligibility of around 2yrs).

I didn't understand what you meant by ONE YEAR MBA and PGDM? By PGDM you mean 2 year MBA program?

Also I'm not sure of how good the chances/prospects are for switching career track with 1 year MBA. Usually people get back into same industry or Consulting kind of profiles after that MBA. Maybe you can research further on some of the programs listed and find out in detail.

Can you tell me which MBA Colleges give 1 year full time executive MBA with healthy packages

@Roopesh216 You could check out our website for more details
@ajaygovindg how about SOIL, gurgaon. IS it good?
@priyanka017 Good/Bad is subjective. What is good/bad for me may not be so for you. There's probably a help desk thread for SOIL here in PG. There's also an official account SOILAdmissions. Ask your queries/concerns to them or alumni, collect facts & information (if possible visit their institute once!) and then take a call on whether to join the programme or not.

P.S: AFAIK its not AICTE approved and hence a certificate program. But not having an AICTE approval does not mean much. ISB does not have AICTE approval!! Read this for some further info on how/where AICTE approval matters - http://www.pagalguy.com/posts/4281858

Hope that helps! All the Best! :cheerio:
@Roopesh216 I'm not sure of the "healthy" packages, but then there's a list of major 1yr programs in the country in the previous page in this thread. Do some further research to collect facts/information and then you can probably shortlist a few to apply. All the Best! :cheerio:
@ajaygovindg Thank you sir but as far as aicte approval concerned i read the post on the link u gave me. you hav said: "But at least make sure it is UGC approved programme.Else it is ILLEGAL!!" .
i guess SOIL is not UGC approved. So now should i go for it?
@priyanka017 I wouldn't recommend!!

@ajaygovindg OK. Thank u sir !
@ajaygovindg sir i read this on PG in the official thread of SOIL
SOIL has been recognized by many educational bodies as an innovation in higher education. This includes:
1.Recognition by AIMA in association with Accenture who choose the SOIL case as the top 3 cases, for their Second Global Innovation Conference Case Study Contest held on 13 November 2010 at New Delhi. The SOIL case study was also a part of the special booklet (Best 10 case studies) that signifies India창€™s innovativeness and has become a guiding source for others to innovate for wider good. Tata Chemicals and Indian Oil were ranked 1 and 2 and Tata Motors and BARC were ranked as 4 and 5. For more details please click here. You can also refer the attached document for the same.
2.SOIL was also recognized by the academic committee of CEDEP as an innovation in higher education with clear focus on learning, at a recently held conference in France(CEDEP is a non-profit collaborative learning community, located on the INSEAD campus in Fontainebleau, France. It was created almost 40 years ago by 6 pan-European companies in association with INSEAD. Their objective is to learn from each other, supported by the academic rigour and excellence of INSEAD faculty). For more details please click here
3.Dr. Srikant Datar of Harvard Business School invited us to present our case study at a conference for heads of B schools in India including all IIMs
4.An IIMA research study named SOIL as a game changer.
SOIL is also in process of applying for accreditation by international body AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). AACSB provides internationally recognized, specialized accreditation for business and accounting programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level.

STILL THE UGC IS REQUIRED.
ONLY THE RECOGNITION AND THE APPROVALS ARE HOLDING ME BACK TO APPLY FOR SOIL.
@priyanka017 The decision is of course yours based on your research and what you expect by doing an MBA!! What I meant to say is, I would not have applied to SOIL!!

OK. i got the point. thanks a lot sir

Hi,

If Manipal university does'nt have UGC accreditation ,what are the other good B-Schools that offer part time Executive MBA with weekend classes? I am currently residing in Pune and plan to move to Blore in few months. So Is there any B-schools that I can start with here in Pune and continue from Blore in case i move from here?
Please help me in making a good decision.
Thanks
I am software engineer with 8 years exp. I want to do an MBA that I can pursue with my job. I am based in Delhi NCR. I don't want to attend too many classes since it is difficult with my job. I love software industry so I am not looking for a change in stream but I want to get promoted in this industry quickly.

@AmitGupta80

You should explore PGPM @ Sunstone Business School. It is specifically tailored for working professionals who wish to pursue high quality business education without giving up their jobs.

It is a rigorous business course with problem solving pedagogy. Delivery is a mix of online, offline, and contact classes (once in 3 weeks). Course does not prescribe text books and all course directors are practicing industry folks - no academicians.

I graduated from SBS in 2012 and can vouch for high quality of the program. Nearly everyone in our batch was able to make the desired career move.

You can find more information on www.sunstone.in
