Hi Guys,

I need some info asap.. I would be really thankful if all u wise ppl out there would spare some time and help me ! I have 3 years of legal experience and I want to go for an MBA for better prospects.. No LLM for me, I have done the R n D.. 😛 I have a few options.. 1 year MBA from Infinity Business School ; Post graduate diploma in Financial Planning and Wealth Management from IIFP ; or a prt time MBA from IIFT.. I guess a regular full time MBA is better than a part-time one.. I need placements too coz I have resigned from my job.. Need advice, please!!!

Thanks for the response.... but my point is by the time exec-mba classes begin in April 2013, I will have only 4years 9months work ex (I have started my career in Jul, 2008 )... If i spend 3 more months then I have to go for 2014-15 academic year instead of 2013-14... Please suggest anybody...

exective classes begin only by june or july.it keeps on getting postponed.which institute are u aiming for.which exam are u going to appear for cat or GMAT

I will be appearing for both the exams this year for the admission to the next academic year. If possible, please give me a list of top 10 schools in india that offers Exec MBA. Thanks in advance.

Guys, looking for help. I have 7.5 years of IT experience. Will be appearing for ocet exam meant for executive MBA from UBS. I can consider FMS and IIFT for executive courses too. Anyone who can suggest which option to go for and any dates for FMS and IIFT are out?
Currently located in Chandigarh. Heard ISB mohali has started it's batch any clue for this too.Confused on college and equipped with less information. I believe these are the days when to look out for colleges for executive mba. do not want to miss chance this year.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi People ,

I have got offer for the 15 month Exe program from Somaiya . I have a work experience of 5 years out of which 2 years of international (UK) experience . Also I have got a new job offer which includes a very good hike and good designation.Basically I am a Bsc computer science graduate passed out in march-2007.

Please can someone advise me . I am a bit confused whether to go ahead with the program offer or job offer.

I need inputs from the current batch who is undergoing the course at somaiya and need serious advise from them.

Hi guys,

completed my GMAT yesterday and got a score of 620....this was my second attempt...rather disappointing...I was expecting a much better score

my aim was to get into full time Executive Programs in any IIM....but with this score it looks tough...I have around 10 years exp in Automotive Software domain...

Need serious advice from you guys...Can I still aim for IIM with this score..or is there any other good option for me..

dont expect to change your functional role from an exec-mba.its better to continue in the same functional area.though u can definitely expect a break through to a higher level of management.people who are very choosy about their functional area or domain and industry finds difficulty in placement.

if u want to try out something very different from what you where in earlier job.two year MBA program is the best choice.

Let me ask you a specific question. I am right now going to begin work as a PO in SBI. I have an MA in econ from GIPE Pune. I wish to do an exec MBA after 5 years of work ex. I wish to go into Project Finance. I believe it will be the same domain for me and i will be able to gain the advantage of an exec mba in terms of moving upwards in the management hierarchy. Please tell me if i am thinking in the right direction.

saw ur post regarding IIFT..... I checked the IIFT website. but there is no Full time executive education, the course they are offering under exec is basically a 18 month weekend course. (for working ppl)

again, it will not help with placements. they are also asking fro company NOC or Sponsorship which is same with FMS.

and let me tell u.... cracking an off campus after the course is as tough as climbing the Everest. ( had got a first hand exp from a fms part time pass out)

Thanks for insight. Even 18 months weekend course is worth considerable at my stage. I understand that it is hard to prove your worth as an MBA grad after having 8 years of work ex in IT or in any specific domain.

But i want to upgrade my knowledge and than only i can allign my skill with added knowledge. Just got an admin card for OCET entrance. This is admin entreance test for PU Chandigarh (UBS).

Can anyone tell the important dates for IIFT/FMS (weekend course) for executives.

Hi Check for a course PGSEM at IIM B. It is a 3 years course specially designed for IT people. Entreance exam happens in feb every year.

Do have a word with people before joining this course as it comes with lots of implications like being in IT you may not be selected for onsite opportunity for 3 years by the time you in course. You need to sacrifice almost all weekends for next three years. Issues like no placements and efforts, family etc need to be considered. They do organize an open house @ IIM B around Dec/Jan. Do attend that for more clarification.
