hey guys... i am keen on taking up full time Executive MBA course. i have 4 yrs of experience n Construction Sector. Can anyone help me out by suggesting which colleges to try for and correspondingly to prepare for which exams???

OK guys.. one more query... most of the B-Schools ask for min. 5 years of work-ex for Executive MBA course... i'll be completing 5 yrs next year in 2013... around the same time when the new academic courses begin. Will i be eligible for such Exe MBA courses????

@[398474:Archanai]: For work exps the colleges generally mention the dates for calculating the work exp...even if they are mentioning generally the application dates or maximum the interview date would be the dates...so in ur case better to look fr mba session of 2014

@[398474:Archanai] u may try NICMAR Poona or ADANI both dont require 5 years of wrkex, usually calculation is taken till 31st march however it is insti. specific as @[520686:ayush2011] has said.

Hello Folks,

Come December and I will be completing 5 years in IT industry.
For the last 5yrs, I had been working as an Oracle Applications Database Administrator. Hence, I have strong technical experience but absolutely no Domain related experience.
I'm looking forward to pursue 1 yr executive MBA.
Kindly help me by letting me know, if this would be a wise move from my end? Will I receive a good job offer after the MBA program or will I have to settle for less as I am lacking in domain knowledge.?
Your advice would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks.
@oyester it depends on kind of profile your looking. If you wanted to continue in IT field post MBA the chances are good if you do your PG in a decent b-school. If you are looking to change your profile from IT to some other industry it would be difficult until you do it from a top notch b-school.
Hi puys, I am working for an SBI associate as a Probationary officer and from Last one year I am handling independent charge as Assistant Manager Advances. Now I am planning to get out of this job for better financial and personal position. Can anyone with better understanding of the market and environment guide me whether I can shift to IT or any other industry (Banking Included too)with the experience I am having. My prime focus is Work and Life balance.I am also thinking of MBA as an option to explore more avenues. Thanks in advance. Really looking forward for replies and responses.....

Dear Friends,

I have 5.1 years of experience in IT industry in companies IBM and Accenture, but all of it is technical. I never had managerial duties, at most I mentored 1-2 resources but that's all. Please let me know if I am eligible for Executive MBA from IIMs. If it is so then I will go for GMAT exam or else I will participate in CAT exam. One of my friends told me that if I do regular MBA now then I would be a mismatch in class because of my high work ex. Kindly resolve my doubts.

Regards,
Amit

@amit-sharma28 Your friend is right! Not only would you be a mismatch, the job profiles you'll get after MBA may also be not to your liking unless you do it from one of the IIMs, XLRI, SPJAIN etc. Even there it will a matter of luck!! Through GMAT you can target IIMA PGPX, IIMB EPGP, IIMC PGPEX, XLRI GMP, ISB PGP, IIML IPMX, IIMI EPGP, SPJIMR PGPM etc. which can be your stepping stone to get into people management, consulting etc. kind of roles.

I'm working with HP and I have people here who had 5-8 years prior work exp in Accenture, IBM etc. They went on to complete XLRI-GMP (minimum eligibility criteria is 5yrs work exp for that) program and have joined here as Program Managers which involves People management, Project Management etc.

Hope that helps.
