Fpm 2013

@lynch said:
1. most guys say min 80 %ile depending upon the academics, research exp, work-ek etc.
Some IIMs give calls to applicants with scores well below 80%ile. In fact, there is no hard-and-fast rule for FPM cut-offs and it depends on various factors viz. the area, the institute, the number of applications received for the current year, the profiles of applicants, and so on.
Therefore, the more you get, the better.
2. somebody mentioned in FPM 2010 thread, that at IIMA its difficult to get Fin/BP/Strat Mangt/POM as the cutoff %tile is in range of 98-100. I dont know whether its true or not
therefore its better if some senior guys can share there inputs again on this issue.
I know a person with 94.xx %ile admitted into FPM in Strategic Management IIM-A this year. But he is an IIT-KGP, IIM-C alumni with a great profile. He also got offer from IIM-C in Strategic Management this year.
I asked the same question regarding %ile at IIMC and met a person who had 89%ile and is currently pursuing FPM at IIM-C in MIS.

Hope this answers your query.

Peers. I was reading about the PhD offered by CEIBS. Would love to hear your take on it.

@Adymos I think it is only for Chinese nationals
@Adymos a question for u

im only submitting the application form w/o taking any test, do you think it can get me a call!

well my profile in a breif manner is 10-80% 12-87% mech engg 67% and marketing 67% and 2.5 yrs in nielsen!
@sb29 hey i would like to write a research paper, i know this sounds so lame!

but where should i start!
@chiraxjr I have no idea. I have never written one myself.

If you want to publish in Indian journals (like ICFAI), that should not be tough. In fact a good way to publish is to write a review article about the research done in an area. Journals love review articles because they are highly cited!
@sb29 okay i got hold of a site called agecon research!

reviewing an article is just like checking it right!

and also search this out -Innovative Payment Solutions in Agricultural Value Chain
as a Means for Greater Financial Inclusion, i had something similar in mind but more broad!

@chiraxjr Nice. You can also use Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic search to find articles.
@sb29 thanks will see them too!

so how is you CB thing going on?????what are you exactly planning to do????could you share it or is it meant to be a scret! i work in nielsen, i can be of some help!
@chiraxjr Pls PM for private conversation!

Haven't decided on a topic yet. Will take coursework for one and half years and then start with research. So, a long way to go...

Thanks for the offer. Will contact you if I get stuck somewhere :)

hi all..my apologies if this is not the correct thread to post my query..actually i want to know about the options of doing a phd in energy studies. need help! TIA..

@sau100 This thread is for Fellow Program in Management/PhD at IIMs and other Indian business schools.

You can look at PSG group of IIMA (Public Policy at IIMB) to see if the research interest fits yours. Otherwise, check out the economics group of all the business schools.

Also TERI has a PhD program which you can check out

@chiraxjr If you are asking about IIM-B I reckon they may call you for the RAT
@Adymos yes i meant IIM B! thanks thats a relief!

what do you say about ISB?????

@chiraxjr ISB clearly stated that they need a GMAT score. You can even submit the score on 14th Jan
@Adymos okay fine, i think i would take a miss that.

this time i will only try for IIMB economic and social science!

and also there is this PHD by NIBM, based on UGC course, which im interested in!

Puys I needed some advice I have started filling the IIM-B form and would like someone to proof read my SOP. Any volunteers????

@Adymos hey mail out the sop to me! even i would get a chance to see it for the 1st time in life!
