Whether You are asking about Post graduate program or Fellowship Program ?
@missionCAT13 FPM programme, i wanna go 4 either of MArketing/HR ( specialisation in Advertising/Brand Management)

smethng i m really interested in :)

I am filling up the IIM C online form. Not able to find where i should upload the certified docs. Am I missing something. Please help.

Do all the IITs call for PhD/FPM applications twice a year?

Also, is there anybody in this thread who is pursuing AIMA-AMU Part-time PhD/FPM? Would like to have a first-hand feedback on it. As there are very few Part-time FPM options for working people, this one seems doable. However, took the view from some academicians... and they feel that this one is not going to have a very good acceptance in the industry/academics.

@peedee.da In general part-time PhDs are not given the same treatment as full time PhDs by most business schools. On top of that, since this programme (AIMA-AMU) is quite recent (12 years old), it would take time before it's acceptance goes up. If it is possible to do, try finding students who have graduated from this programme.

could anyone give me a contact number of any of the current IIM-B FPM students in the area of OB and HRM ? i have many queries dat needs to be addressed. Cant discuss here as they some of them are of personal nature. Plz puys help out

@mirage11 Try the IIMB website... Home > Programmes > Doctoral/FPM > FPM Students
@SSS09 Request someone to please let me know where i can upload the certified docs in the IIM C online form.
@SSS09 When you log in to the online system, under "INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION ON THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE", #4 states "Please submit documents in support of the application according to the instructions given under Supporting Documents at the time of interview, failing which application would be cancelled."

I would guess that there is no need to upload any docs now. If you want a re-confirmation, you can always contact the FPM office. If you do, it would be nice if you write a short follow-up on their feedback here on this thread.
@dd2013 I will call the FPM office and update the thread.
which IIMs offer International Business as a specialization ?

Hello PPl. Need your suggestions

First my background
I have done my B.Tech. in Pulp & Paper Eng. ( specialized chem ) from IIT Roorke. But I always had interest in programming and without putting much fight I choose the easiest job for my in IT. I worked in TCS, PwC and IBM. I am know for my expertise where ever I worked. But I am bored of the repetitive work where very little innovation is involved. But throughout my career, my inner instinct kept peeping out and telling I want to study more and I want to teach. I sometimes do even think of opening a coaching center as I strongly believe I would love teaching . I have 5 yrs of work experience and I don't know how to go about studying further. Going through GATE prep while working seemed difficult. I chose to write CAT and here I am. Recently I came across FPM and felt yes! may be this I was looking for.

My Acads
10- 82 %
12- 85.4 %
b.tech. -7.34 /10

I have interest in mathematics and obviously IT( provided I have something innovative to do ).
Now the Queries :-
1) What do yo think is FPM worth for the kind of life I am looking for.
2) What % in CAT is required to get a call in IIMS
3) What % in XAT is required to get a call in XLRI
3) What could be an area of interest. Any link which shows the PhD / research topic being taken?
4) I have no publication so far.( Ya.. I had some simulation related Major and Minor project in my col. )

Any guidance will be helpful
@Sagigarima I think no IIM offers International Business as a separate specialization area. But IB may be a subset of the Strategy area (or SM/CSP/BP - same area, different nomenclature in different schools) provided there are supervisors available who could oversee your research.
@cat4kg
1) The best person to decide if FPM is worth for you is you. All others can do is to share their opinions/experiences. Every year we have candidates with profile similar as yours who come for FPM. FPM gives you the time to study, find more about your areas of interest (within your stream), and research. But if it is opening a coaching center that you are looking for, FPM might not be the best choice. Go for FPM only if you want to study, research, love/can love teaching, and have a passion for the discipline of your choice.

2) It varies across IIMs. Generally, the higher the better. Our guess is as good as anyone's guess. My guess: With your profile, 90%ile+.

3) Go to websites of different IIMs for an idea of the different disciplines.

4) Not an issue as long as you can convince the interview panel about your passion for research/subject.
@dd2013 i think i saw IB s speciliztion in 2 colleges. dint mke a note at that tym, now ithas slipped out f my mind. ill check again
