@bomubaba Hi. You don't have to post multiple times to get your query answered. If someone is capable of answering your query, s/he will.

About your query, since you have already applied for IIMB, why not give your best? How will what I or someone else have to say about you chances increase of decrease it ?!

@nitya.saxena I was going through the XLRI website and came across their intake stats for the last few years. Here is the link: www.xlri.ac.in/scripts/current...If this is the complete list, things do not look very promising intake-wiseAnyone has any inputs?
I was surprised to see only one intake in 2012 :O
Btw I spoke to a current fpm student at xlri last year and he was very positive about the programme and the future opportunities.... XLRI fpm has good acceptance in the academic as well as in the corporate circles... it is AICTE approved but not yet has the tag of equivalent to phd though they are working on it...and the intake is also a function of the quality of the applicant pool... let`s hope for the best

And an update from my side! Cudn`t convert my IITB call :(
There were only 2 seats in the TA (Teaching assistant) category and of course my performance in the interview was not up to the mark 😲
In fact, they selected only 6 from 20 in the final round of interview.. and didn`t take any of the 6 applicants in the operations specialization :(

Hi I am doing MBA from heritage institute from Kolkata. And wanted to do PhD in management .. Firstly i wanted to know the difference between Phd and Fellow ship management and wanted to know what exams are required for doing Phd in management and specifically from Kolkata. please help me in knowing it. I am going to get passed out grom heritage this year. so please help me

@Sunil1989 first of all u must be clear that why you want to do Phd in management and your motive behind this.
1) Their is not any big difference between Phd and FPM , FPM is awarded by the Management Institution which are not governed by Universities but affiliated to HRD like IIM s , ISB, MDI,XLRI and others.
2) It depend upon which specialization you want to take in your PhD OR FPM. in India CAT , UGC-NET, GRE,GMAT are accepted for all the program , it will be good if you will go through the university website were u want to apply.
3) In kolkata IIM C,santiniketan , IIT karagpur , Jadvpur university are their pls go to the website of these institution .

@sb29

I am keen on doing a doctoral course abroad.Kindly guide the pre requisities.

healthcare

..as far as I remember, XL had offered admission to 8-9 students, but most of them opted out it seems!! Reasons could be very personal...

..keeping in mind the long-term benefits, it's always advisable to join an IIM

@health Pls post your profile and interests.
@bomubaba Hi Thanks for the Info but there is no PhD in Management in CSIR-NET Exam and There is no course in Shantiniketan and Jadavpur University. So can you please help me.
@sb29

Thanks , have studied dentistry , after that enrolled in PGDHM (post graduation diploma in health management). Now keen on going abroad for the doctoral programme. My area of interests are informatics and strategy management
@sb29 thanks :)
@Sunil1989 I dont know more about shantinikant but in Jadavpur University u can do Phd in Strategic for the same you have to write UGC Net ,as Per CSIR Net is concern they are meant for phd in science subject but I think many university is accepting this score card if u want to do PhD in Operation Management , and one thing more you can write CAT for any Phd or FPM program , CAT is accepted in all the B-School as well as University .for foreign university u have to write GMAT or GRE.

Pls don't do Phd Only for degree , If u have inclination then go for it if u dont have then pls go to industy after your MBA because if u do Phd again u have to invest 4-6 yrs . so accordingly take ur decision

U pls check ISM (Dhanbad ) Department of Management studies .They are also offering PhD in Management studies and it will be nearer to your home city that is kolkata

hai......can anyone please tell me about the placements at iimk.........with average and highest salary............also is fpm is self study course.......because in iimk just 3-5 persons in each specializtn......so thats why i am asking like this...................

Hi... I hoping someone would throw some light on an issue I am having. I have been trying to submit my IIM-B form but it asks for Reco's I have already provided the names and email ID and I know that they have received it because they said so. Does IIM-B not accept the application till the recos have been submitted?

ISB accepted the form already. Am I missing something here.
