I am interested in dng my FPM at IIMB in Finance area, could you please tell me my chances to IIMB
hi ,
here`s the ISB fpm webchat recording:--
I have applied online for FPM IIM C. I have taken a print of the online form and sent the offline recommendations along with the form by mail to FPM office. Its not necessary that an online fpm form should have recos submitted online, right? I would like to know if what I have done is right or not?
Hi Guys.. Any idea when IIM FPM results will start flowing? Of course IIM A will be first to declare it but approx when?
Hi...i have a question...wat is the 'validity' of the FPM degree..in the sense that is it actually at par with a PhD? If after 10 yrs in the industry, I want to join a government bank, will they recognize that degree or will a FPM be treated differently from a PhD?
@kartik_ Technically, there is a body called Association of Indian Universities (AIU) which grants equivalence to PGDM (to MBA) and FPM (to PhD) in India. This is the official equivalence. Some FPM degrees are recognized by AICTE to be of 'doctoral level'. But that cannot be considered as 'equivalent to PhD' unless AIU gives the equivalence.
In reality, an FPM degree from a premier institute(irrespective of the above) is recognized as PhD across all academic institutions and industry. I am not sure about PSUs but I think it should be recognized as equivalent to PhD too. At such a senior level that you have mentioned, I think skills will matter more than the degree name. Also, since all the IIMs are public institutes, it shouldn't be a problem.
You have not asked it, but I would also like to mention that contrary to the popular perception (among applicants), Fellows can also write Dr. in front of their name. This is a normal practice and I know many FPM holders in India and abroad who are doing this. Also, there is no official rule/regulation about writing Dr. in front of your name.
Hi,
My CAT percentile is 84.15
Quant 87.5 %
Verbal 75.39 %
Any guidance if I should apply with score or without score at IIM Bangalore FPM?
I'd graduated from IIT Roorkee in 2012 with a B.Tech degree (CGPA: 7.7)
Ive an 89.6% in 10th, 81.2% in 12th, and am currently employed at an MNC,
working in the field of Analytics(Banking sector) with a compensation of 11 lacs.
My long term goal is to become a professor (of Marketing). I aspire to pursue an FPM program at one of the IIMs. Regarding the same, I had the following questions:
1) Would my profile be in line with the kind of people the IIM's FPM programs are looking for?
2) Could taking the GMAT over CAT make a difference to my chances? (I understand that GMAT scores are also accepted)
3) If taking the GMAT is a viable option, what kind of scores should one target for FPM calls from A, B, C?
PS: I've recieved an invitation to apply for FPM at IIM Rohtak (2013 batch) coz my CATscore
(96 %ile).. I appeared last year for mere formaility with no preparation. So should I focus on this, or target A B C with a GMAT score/CAT score for 2014 session?
