http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/india/ This is a free site and I found many good articles on different areas . If any one is interested you can visit . May help in your interview prep as well .
when i called IIM admission office they told me about there cut off score(for which they called for interview last year) which i qualify. So I think percentile does not matter that much. right?
Please check initial 3-4 pages of this thread and it will give you a fairly good idea about FPM. If you have any specific question then you can ask here or PM me.
Thanks for this very informative thread and for taking the time out to reply to queries.
I'm interested in FPM Marketing and it would be great if you could evaluate my profile..
Education:
B.Tech (Comp): 76%
MBA (Marketing) from Manipal University, Dubai: GPA 3.94/4
Experience:
A little more than 5 years in Marketing and Consulting mostly in the UAE. There is a huge gap though, as I haven't been working since May 2009. Also I dont have any research or teaching experience.
@sanmen To all those asking for a profile check/profile evaluation/guesstimate on chances in FPM: Our guess is as good as your guess. FPM calls are given on a variety of factors, and my opinion or somebody's else's opinion will have no bearing on that. Have confidence on yourself and apply to as many colleges and areas as you deem fit.
@ those who are thinking it's no good applying to a particular college or area because of lack of research/lack of work ex/lack of apparently decent profile: I see it this way:
If you apply, you might or might not get in.
But if you don't apply, you surely WOULD NOT get in.
So take you time, think about your career choices, the type of work/life you would want to have in future, how a PhD will help in that, whether you will be able to devote 4-5 years for it, the subject/area of your interest, college of your interest, and then apply to whichever college you want to.
I just started filling the IIM A form. It says that recommendation letters are not required at this stage. Could any of the people who applied to IIM A earlier let me know how the recommendation system works. I need to let my referees know when they will have to upload the recommendation letter.

For IIMA , reference letter is not needed. You only need to give the details of referee . Institute may contact them directly in future if needed. But it does not happen till your interview and selection. so don't worry about reference letter ...
