I'm not sure what purpose the grid serves. you can use it as you would a regular piece of paper. They simply wipe it after you're done so it really doesnt matter where you write.

I got immediate replies from u . I really appreciate u for this prompt answering.
Please suggest any other material. Where are all these books available in Hyd and the costs? Have searched almost the whole of Koti last week-end... Cheers
You might also want to try the Manhattan Sentence Correction Guide. I dont think this book is easily available or even available at Koti for that matter but the rest are easily available.
hi am new to this community am planning to take GMAT. What is the best way to start the preparation , i mean material to study and taking practice tests.
I have tried but not found any Xerox copies of any GMAT Material in Hyd. I would suggest you buy new books from Koti (I can help you if you want address of shops selling the stuff) and you can always sell them back in the market at 60% to 80% of the rate depending on your negotiation skills.
Hi , I have just joined this site and wanted to be a part of this thread
There are some things which I wanted to know :
1) Is there any good coaching institute for GMAT in hyderabad which actually does not blow a hole in your pocket. 2) How much do you guys suggest that I should go ahead for a coaching , is it really helpful or just personal prepration is more of a help.
There are Institutes like TIME, VISU etc. which offer coaching for GMAT. But the fees you pay and the classes you attend are not worth the prep you can do by being at home. The best way as realised by everyone here on PG is to follow the blog, buy the books from Koti and blastoff.
Please go through the blog sites and you will know this by yourself.
Hi Friendz, This is Murari. I would like to suggest one thing to them who just started preparation for GMAT. Don't Join any institute/coaching center. It's just waste of your hard earned money. My experiance tells that. Better find a Partner who wish to study with you which helps a lot better. Any one willing to join me are welcome. But Time restricts appllicable as I work for an US based Consultancy i.e. Night shit. I can spare my time from 11 AM to 4 PM exclusively for this.
This is Siva and this is my first post in PG. I want to write my GMAT, but i don't have much idea about the general admission dates/months. If anyone could help me, I would like to know more on this. Also if there is anyone who is about to start their preparation, please let me know so that we can form a group if you guys are interested.
I took my GMAT last month and scored a decent 680 (Q49,V34) AWA 5.5. I hope to be of some help to all those of us who are new to this. I would also list my mistakes so that you guys can get them right. First things first:
That you should attend coaching for GMAT must be guided only by your proficiency and the time you can devote to prepare for each section. I feel that my score was bogged down by my mediocre show in verbal. I should have gone for a 'verbal only' coaching at Princeton Review centre, which my friend (720) said is very good. I think while most of us are already game for GMAT math with little prep from the standard books, the same couldn't possibly true with verbal. But again it all boils down to how good you are...
The 'must have' books to succeed in GMAT:
Kaplan Review- 800 or the Premium edition. But whichever you choose, it MUST have the CD. The CD has exhaustive practice material that you cannot possibly afford to miss.
Princeton Review: The book has good shortcuts and tips but not much of practice content. Also, I heard that the CD isn;t really good, so you could also settle for the one without the Disc.
ARCO Answers to real essay questions: Another really good book. I dedicate my AWA score of 5.5 to this book!! So practice essays. Write an essay on your own and compare it with the essay in the book. You'll know how good you are.
The BIBLE of GMAT- OG11: Your prep is only half complete without this. After you're done with books mentioned above, start doing the OG. Whats better than actually doing past GMAT questions? The questions on the actual exam will be very similar to what you would do in OG. So be very sure of reviewing the questions, both the correct ones and the wrong ones. Go through OG a day or two before the exam.
3. Download the GMATPrep software from www.mba.com . Do these only in the end. Almost all of the above mentioned books come with full length practice tests which should only be done after you're through with your preparation. The last 10 days must be spent on doing these full length tests. These tests must be attempted in a single seating. This helps to build your stamina for the actual test. And, mere attempting the tests isn't going to be of any good. Spend at lest a good 2 hours reviewing all the questions- the correct and the wrong. There's no point in knowing which question you did wrong. You should know 'why' you went wrong. Do the GMATPrep tests only on the last two days to the exam. Go through the OG.
Thats all I could think of at the moment. I would be more than just glad to answer any further queries or clarifications that any of you might require. Cheers!!
Hi Murari, I am going to take gmat on Dec 28. When are you taking? I am looking for a mate who could join for the prep. Let me know, where you live.. I stay in Srinagar Colony..
