Hi,
I am planning to take GMAT in Sep 08 having 7+ Exp. I want to join caching for GMAT(need some discipline 😉 ). Which coaching center is better for weekend classes. I have zeroed on to two 1) Princeton (only for verbal) 2) Chopras - Kaplan certified center.

Which one of the two do you suggest and are there any guys from these institutes who can offer an advise.

I have Kaplan 800 2006 edn. Seems good. Is that sufficient? What all online tests should i take? And what other books?

Hey Kiran,
U can buy OG11 from Koti or Ameerpet. I have bought my copy from Koti where you will get several book shops after the Koti crossing. You can try it there. Even shops consider order in advance if you want to order any book online.

Manhattan and Kaplan tests apart from GMAT prep should be enough. For the books you can refer to Kaplan 800 and Princeton (hard bin questions are quite good). Set 21-31 also provide good set of questions for practicing.

Do you need book for practicing or for studying???

Hi Puys

My Gmat prep has been with ups and downs till date..but with a very serious resolve i decided i wud finish off my prep in 2 to 3 months and gear up for GMAT in july..guess i have no option but to utilise my office hrs for prep

Its nice to see so many puys chipping in this thread( some newbies and some experts) and asking for materials/queries etc..

So why don't we have a meet on this weekend and share what we have/what we don't have?

May be vineet,the expert here will also join if he's got some free time. :)

wat say puys? we have 3 more days to plan for saturday or sunday meet.

Glad to know so many people from Hyderabad gearing up for the GMAT. As suggested in the previous post we can plan a meeting for knowledge sharing.

Took my 2nd Kaplan mock GMAT on sunday and managed a paltry 640 .....Way to go

That's actually pretty good you know. Kaplan is reputed to have the weirdest scoring algo and ppl have reported scores fluctuating between 70 and 100 points so you see it certainly is

my Score - Princeton
English : 20 (how do i improve this)
Maths : 35 (I feel i can mange to improve as I had committed many silly mistakes).

When is you exam??

For you english i would suggest this

1) Read Manhattan SC - get your fundas clear
2) Take Spidey and Sahils notes - review them
3) Prepare your own cheat sheet based on above three
4) Get Set Go --> OG10/11 then Kaplan then Sets 21-31. or you can go for the 1000 series

While practicing keep taking tests in between to gauge your progress

for Maths
1) Prepare the list of formulas
2) Start practicing in the order that i have said above .
3) Prepare a list of do's and dont's for the DS questions - like how to approach, what range of number to use when testing a question

While you are practicing, make detailed notes of your mistakes - will help you later when you will revise
