I am new to GMAT.....I would like to pursue PhD in Management esp. Marketing, in US. I would need a good score in GMAT(>680) to get a scholarship. About my profile I am B.Tech (with screwed up CGPA) and MBA (Average CGPA 3.26/5). I am working in a Top Technology Company and have an experience of 4yrs.
Few Questions for the gr8 forum here
1. Which Coaching inst. in Hyderabad is best (Paisa Vasool), (i mean it should start from Diagnosis test to Strategies, good material etc...)
2. If i want to do self study, which books are must have and good to have. (I am poor in Quant).
3. Any one who is looking for Joining PhD in US?? Any forum??
I am planning to take the GMAT in Oct-Nov 2011.....I would prefer weekend classes with some online support/videos......

Do we have any study group for all those who are preparing to appear in GMAT in 2011, or targeting ISB this year, from Hyderabad?If not , then why dont we create one and let us work towards a common goal of cracking GMAT with high scores?
I have started my preparation few weeks back and planning to appear in gmat this july.

Register yourself at GMAT Hyderabad GMAT Coaching Classes GMAT Training Institute and you will get two mini GMAT diagnostic tests for free. Once you complete your tests, they even call you for a test analysis. ATB!

Indeed it was a decent first meet.Nice to have met fellow GMAT aspirants and know their views.It would be nice if few more can join especially seniors whose valuable inputs will be really helpful for us.
The following were the major points discussed in todays meet:
1) Basic preparation mode for GMAT.
2) An idea about various coaching institutes in Hyderabad--May me the rest can give some inputs regarding this issue.
3) Regarding basic Work ex. required.
4) Extra circular activities say NGO experience.May be the rest can give their inputs here.
I have created a GMAT study group_Hyderabad on facebook and sent invitation to all who met today.I will sort info net and keep pasting links their.
I hope some more will added to this group and we all can contribute for our common goal to prepare and perform well in this exam.

PowerPrep S/W- u get 2 free GMAT tests from GMAC- these can be dowloaded from www.mba.com
SC- go for Manhattan SC
CR- PowerScore CR or Manahattan CR
For RC and Quant, u can check the Manhattan GMAT books or the regular CAT material or Kaplan premiere

So basically books required shld be.
1. OG11/12
2. Manhattan Sentence correction/ Critical Reasoning
Do i require any other books and the beginner stage or later sometime in due course of study.
I heard many people saying that OG is bible if are through OG 2-3 time u have much better chances of crackin 700+.
Any idea ..?

OG11/12 are good only for practice..and from what i have read on the net, OG books contain very few 700+ level questions. So, if you are aiming for mid and high 700 score, i am nt sure which book u need to follow (Do let me know if u find one). My opinion is- If one goes thru the basic stuff and approach the questions in OG 11/12, OG Verbal guide and Quant guide in the right manner, 700+ is attainable without much fuss

MY name is Amrit Agarwal and I have a work experience of 2+ yrs. I intend to give my GMAT exam during the month of September and accordingly, I have decided to started the prep now. I am new to Pagalguy, GMAT and to this thread so please help me get familiarize with the happenings as I wish to be a part of this study circle.
Also, I have decided to take coaching for GMAT, so can anyone help me find a suitable coaching institute. I have been to Manhattan Review/ Princeton Review/ IMS etc but they all seem to be the same. Can anyone suggest me or share his/her experience about the same.

I just came across this amazing thread and at a very crucial time of my life..I am in real need of Kaplan Premier 2011 edition and am not able to find it in any store..It will take a minimum of 21 days for me to get it..Was wondering if anybody on this thread has it and is willing to lend me for two weeks..I would surely return in the next two weeks..
