My take is D
The machine identifies b/w the two by the color, so the answer should contain the point that crops & weed have different color for the machine to be useful -
A - Gives the difference in the color among different types of weeds & not weeds & crops
B - Gives the changes in the color of crops & does not compare the color of weeds & crops
C - If overall size is the point of distinction, then the machine is useless, so this contradicts.
D - Says that by genetic manipulation the color difference can be created, which will make machine useful. This is the correct ans.

I did this ques few days ago and ya at first go only answer A made sense to me too. but that's not the case. Here's the Explanation. Hope it clears your doubt too.

Option A, is not weakening it simply states what is already there in the argument. Both type of couples have arguments, but the one in which couple don't share the sleeping habbits is more voilent(" have more violent arguments than do couples in a relationship in which both partners follow the same sleeping and waking patterns.")
Also if you see the conclusion it says "Thus, mismatched sleeping and waking cycles can seriously jeopardize a marriage." but Option A just says jeopardize the couple's marriage.
Even if you have a look on question it say "Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument above?"
Further In Option D, It is weakening the assumption by saying that some time people do it knowingly thus weakening the conclusion .
