OG 12, I believe is much more representative of the GMAT than OG 11. OG 11 did not have a single Bold face question. Also, the difficulty level of math questions in OG 12 is better than that in OG 11. It's worth buying.
Any chennai guy already took MGMAT? pls comment on its quality

Manhattan GMAT tests (MGMATs) have some of the best test practice content on offer after the GMATprep tests. I would definitely rate them higher than the Kaplan and Princeton tests.
Like the GMAT, MGMAT is computer adaptive in nature. It picks out questions from an existing pool of questions and throws at you questions of varying difficulty based on how you are faring in the exam.
The verbal questions are more or less at par with those on the real GMAT but the maths questions are definitely tougher. There are questions on Probability and Combinatorics, something which I've never seen on the Kaplan tests or even the retired paper tests from ETS.
The other thing that I really liked about the MGMAT was the post-test analysis it offers you. Apart from the time taken for and the topics tested in each question, it also shows you the difficulty level (basically a score range, for eg. 500-600 or 600-700) of the attempted question.
I would strongly suggest that you attempt the free MGMAT that they offer on their website.
sars72 Saysi've read a couple of review online... seems the only thing that's changed is the cover .. seriously though, the additional content in og 12 is negligible.. if you already have og 11, there's absolutely no need to get og 12.
Hi all,
i have finished my coaching from Princeton. i was told that finishing the OG 8 times will be enuf to get a good score.... will it be so?
Thanks...
OG is where you start and not where you end. If you want a 700+ score, OG is not sufficient. I am sure a lot of past and current test takers will agree with me.
To be honest, I am not a fan of PR. I thought their classes were a serious waste of time (and of course, MONEY!!!). If 500-650 is a good score, PR will help you. But, in that case, OG will suffice (you can save your 25k).
If "finishing the OG" is enough to get a good score (what is a good score???), PR should not conduct any classes!!!

thanks for the guidance... but my bad luck i already wasted that money...
ofcourse no one tries for a 500 to a 650.. to get a good college... :)
i m good with maths but verbal is a nightmare ... even after so much so sentence correction i still do not find much of improvement in me....
Take the test.. wish you good luck.

wat is d ideal tym for taking gmat??
Vivek,
If you are looking to join by fall 2010 (September 2010 intake), you need to take the GMAT latest by Nov/ Dec 2009 so that you can apply by round 2. Also, remember that you need time to write essays. Give yourself at least 20 days to write essays.
hiii all..
This is priya and I am writing my GMAT on sept 30th.. m using barrons and princeton review.
Is there any specific study plan that i should follow since theres just a month left? Any useful suggestions/help is welcome.. :)
Cheers:D
Manhattan guides (Quants&verbal;) r available on the net as ebooks and can be downloaded. There are lotsa other guides as well like OG 11th edn.. McGraw Hill's, Kaplan etc thats available.
Barron's is bad for GMAT (their GRE book is great!)
You definitely need OG 12.
ohkiee.. yeah realised it when i started princeton!! the quesns in barrons are totally out of sync with those of the real GMAT! princeton is good. will get OG 12 next. I guess i shd stick to OG 12 and princeton as i don have much time.. 😞
Take as many as full tests (including AWA) possible.do you have manhattan tests or any other tests than OG,Kaplan??.
