ude i have checked the notification and i know that mech is enough for applying
to technical officer post but the problem is that form is not being accepted by the website
on stating mechanical as my branch in educational details field. I know I am eligible to apply and I clear all the requirements but I think there is some error with the website itself.

can anyone explain the significance of TWSS ???
@prash39 said:can anyone explain the significance of TWSS ???
This my friend is a simple question ....a more difficult question is how they arrive at the standard score(NOT TWSS...however TWSS mein all the standard scores are added)....
TWSS is your marks in the test not the actual marks.......but a standardized score calculate by a formula....
TWSS is your marks in the test not the actual marks.......but a standardized score calculate by a formula....
you needed a TWSS of 128 for IT OFFICER SCALE 1....(in the prev specilaist paper).....
a minimum threshold(called cutoff) must be crossed in the TWSS to be eligible for further selection

the formula given for arriving at TWSS is :
Reasoning + 0.5(english) + G.A./Quant + 1.5(professional knowledge)
but in the case of IT officer there is no G.A. , then whats the formula?

formula is the same .....except INSTEAD OF GA THERE IS QUANT...
try to understand what I am saying...this is not the complex part....the thing is they first calculate the standard score for each subject based on the actual scores.....
like = you might have 30 marks out of 50 maths..but after standardization it cud become 42.....it may also become 27....no one actually knows.....
In fact you will never know your actual marks only standard marks in each subject...

See....
A is the grandparent ....
h=female d=female e=female b=male f=male c=female(given in question)....
f is grandson of A....and brother of C(cause C ke neeche koi generation nahi di gayee hain)...
ab beech waali generation.......
isme ek married couple hoga......ek toh e aur b married couple hain....baaki h aur d aunt hain....(h is the sister in law of e)....d is the aunt of c...(c is daughter of eb).....
toh eb = ek couple.....
fc = bhai behan (third generation).....
hd = behan behan.....
bache a aur g....so g has to be the other grandparent....
we are asked number of male members......toh ek F...doosra b(e ka husband)...aur a aur g mein koi toh husband hoga hi...
So total male members = 3.....
ab in sabko table par place kar do..accoding to relation question solve ho gaya....
total time taken = 321 seconds....

I got ur point that they have some secret formula of arriving at standard scores for each subject but my concern is that as per the notification all the subjects have equal weightage and that is for the subject wise cutoff... but as per the TWSS.. professional knowledge has more wieghtage and eng has less..so may be we need to prepare accordingly and also spend time accordingly in exam????
