@daddykool ---- i will seriously give a thought for these south based banks after reading ur posts.....but doing that,canara bank (which is one of my prefered banks) wud go out of equation....that wud eventually hamper my preference bcz iv got limited banks to choose from bcz of my grad marks...
See bro, it's not necessary that Canara will give everyone some rural south postings , but Canara's HR policies doesn't even differentiates between male and female employees. So better to avoid Canara or leave it for the candidates of the southern part of the country :)...

"but Canara's HR policies doesn't even differentiates between male and female"-----this wud mean there wud be no differentiation as far as postings are concerned bcz its a well known fact thats a girl candidate is given cushion as far as postings are concerned (iv heard many girl candidates are given postings in major metros whereas boys are prefered for rural postings).

Yes, one of my college friends who joined Canara from PO-1, though she is from Bhopal, given posting in a some rural 100 kms away from bangalore.

bro i think u did not read that circular clearly. they said rural/semi urban. and i live in an urban place but 5km away from my home their is a semi urban place. to chalega dost..

That would be difficult to state. It would require a whole lot of researching. But if you consider it statewise, then the bank that has he least number of branches in a particular state, would naturally have the least number of rural branches. Logic: Banks would first go for urban or semi urban areas to set up shop before venturing into rural areas.

dude,i guess u must also have some parameters while selecting a bank(thats very normal),isnt it? same is the case with me....im not against rural postings...but,id definately try and gather info by which i can streamline my choices according to my preference..dts exactly what im doing at present....cheers
And guys, what about IDBI? It has the minimum rural postings granted, but does it have any policy of not giving home location to new recruits? Just curious.
Putting it directly, I sincerely require a posting in my home location West Bengal. With a score of 156 in SC Category and quite a good interview, is IDBI a safe option?
@all one of my frnd joined canara bank 6mnths ago. he got posting 10km away from his home. so i would say it all depends upon luck.. nothing else. rural me koi itni b jada branches nai khulne waali bcoj wahan itna business nai hai so dnt wry.
