Hi Puys ...I had my GDPI on 11.08.12 kolkata mba85pag:30 AM, South Point international School.There were in all 8 Groups i GD and i was in the 2nd group.From my group only 5 /10 could make it to the PI , Thank God i was in.As our group in-take was less compared to other groups with avg intake of 7/10
GD Topic: Discussed earlier here , Company A , having two divisions , DivX/DivY , Dix running is lossed for 3 consec. yrs and DivY runnig in profit for 3 Conc. yrs .
Losses & Profits reasons mentioned as they provided a tulbular data .Then machine manufactuting effieciency data was also given for both the DIV's. Now as CFO of the company you need to choose whether to sell DiV X or Bring in Strategic investor ?
10 mins to think and write on anlysis sheet , your views ...guys very short time to read ,such a long passage and then write , however could manage ,as topic was disccused here earlier .So really thankfull to Puys .60 Sec -- For extempore , i was asked to start , put my views confidently .Then given 10 mins to discuss- All went with strategic investor , everyone spoked , but only 5 were selelcted , i could find a possible reasons for others rejection were may b low in confidence while speaking or inputs were less despite provided an opportunity .I was in , to be luck enough
9:45 am GD results were out , we were asked to have some fast food and then return for PI scheduled at 11am .But my wait was longer , i was interviewd at 4:30 PM and only for 10 mins .In the morning saw few pannels were intervewing candidate for 30-35 mins but as the hrs were running there energy as well our energy was also going down.Later after 2pm almost all of them were interviewed for 10-15 mins.
In my pannel i had 1 lady (seemed HR), 2 Old men(1 Was there in my GD round):
Was warmly welcomed , asked to sit, told not to get tensed , and if so have some water (since offered i had it ) ,relax and cool.
Ques 1: Tell me about yourself ...told in brief as before entering the room they took my CV and after 2-3 mins later i was called .But they told me to elaborate on the same ....told .
Ques 2: Followed why will ICICI take you ...told ..was expecting gud some expression , but none could i notice
Ques 3: Wats ur hobby ...told netsurfing ..what website you surf and how many hrs do you give ..this question man 5 mins the discussion went on, i told socialnetwork websites & other stuffs (facebook.., 2 hrs , they were surprised hearing 2 hrs ), ques followed :As CFO to promote a banking product in FB , what would you do ...told the positives only .Then the interviewer pointed whether there will any negative impact or not if then how will you resolve ..i could not answer this point the way he wanted but when he hinted me(" If u have problem in ur knee will you cut your hand from shoulder for a solution) i was bang on gave an answer to his expectations .But he came with a negative conclusion and asked me how often do i change my decisions after hearing from someone .I tried to convince him by saying that mentor always give positive suggestion, and if i am going wrong ,i accept suggestions , to make things go right ...he smiled a bit ...After that he asked how may secs do you actually take to think before you reply .. i told only 5-6 secs to process and reply .Then he told either you give answer from your instinct(pointing towards his heart) or do not think at all while replying . I told him sir this is the way i am a bit fast ..he noded his head and said yes i know perhaps ur built like this ....don't know what inferences he drew but that impacted me a -ve way .So was feeling low
Ques 4: Do you have reading habbit asked by another interviwer:Humoursly replied ..during engineering used to ...then the lady replied during that period it was complusory (laughing)..
Ques5 : Then interviewer who srewed me on Hobby quest , asked the HR (lady ) , you can ask , she replied you already have asked an HR ques " HOw often do i change decisions", so nothing more , then some general quest...have you been for the selection process earlier , any blood relatives , willing to relocate.
Then i asked her that after having GD at 9:30 , was being interviwed at 4:30 PM , after 30 odd aspirants ,so was there any criteria for calling for PI or it was random , (as asked her this quest as i was low on energy and was not that happy with myslef, the way PI was going, had preapred a lot but no question asked ) ..she told random , and asked me y ur asking this , then i replied most of us who were waiting had the same question , all were feeling low thinking the later you will be called the lower is you performance ...She smiled , and told nothing like that.
Quest 6: Do you have any questions by interviewer : asked whether candidate will choose specialisation or Bank.Interviewer replied in brief,they will put us to series of OPQ and other assessments to judge an individual during the course ,as they think you might be gud in IT , but if the assesments and data speaks other way then , they will have to go with data .
Then he told it was nice talking to me extending his hand , shook , shook with another interview (smiling ) and finally with the HR and left the room.
After the interview i had some mixed feeling ,but was thinking could have done much better as was not upto expectation and prep.Interview was average...So fingers crossed
