IIM Bangalore: Interview Shortlists for 2013-15 Batch

Got a call. :)

Profile -

X 92.5 (Rajasthan Board)
XII 91.23 (Rajasthan Board)
Grad 8.7/10.0 (IIT)
Work ex - 18 months.

Hey @abhi.iimb, just needed an opinion. How would it look if out of the three references required, none is from my office, provided that I've been working for 18 months now? And if I do get one from the office, how about from a colleague who's working in a team other than mine?
Hello puys
I apologize for posting such a query but looking at profiles that are being rejected by Banglore I am feeling disheartened here.
My profile
Xth 96%(west bengal board)
XIIth 90%(west bengal board)
Bsc in Statistics Non Engineer from St.Xavier's College(Calcutta University)- 59%(incomplete)
final year of graduation currently
Is there any hope for a call from B or even A after giving CAT 2013.
Thanks
P.S-I m a 80 percentiler of CAT 2012.

seniors i had a question...

for the proof of current work experience can i upload my latest salary slip as proof or it should be something else?

as for previous company i will be uploading my experience certificate will that be fine?

Thanks

Could you please let me know how many recommendations do I need? I am little disconnected here. Is it just one or three?

@Jordan13 When you have worked for 18 months, it doesn't look great if none of your referees are from your workplace. The colleague working in the other team must have worked very closely with you to evaluate you on various attributes. He should know you personally in some capacity (team lead, project lead, module lead etc) In my case, I had put the names of my current as well as Ex-Managers(from a different team). ATB :)
@abhi.iimb, all right. Then I'll put the name of my ex-manager there, though I had worked for only 2-3 months under him. I don't trust my current manager at all.
Thanks for the reply btw. :)
@abhi.iimb/ others - Frnd ,I'll b facing lot of troubles if my team lead/manager/supervisor comes to know that I'm trying to leave this company. However,I can manage to get my colleagues to write my recm letter. Will any of my colleague's(with designation way below that of lead/managers- assistant system engineer) recm ltr suffice?
I can't have that from my colg's HOD/principals as I passed out in 2010 they might not remember me & hod is changed.
Any suggestions?
@vaibjha For current company, you need to upload the first and the last salary slips. And for previous company, Experience certificate will be good enough.

@moup Hmmn..then you have to get them from your colleagues since you have no other options left :(
Why don't you try visiting your college and request at least one of your professors? They are usually very nice and helpful.

Good luck!

Hey @abhi.iimb . Thank you for all the support extended to us. I have a query as how to approach ' In which capacity the evaluator knows you'. Whether it has to be a detailed description or just a statement or a word stating the manager employee relation.

@shivam2012: A one word/sentence answer will suffice. That said, you can add a detailed description if you so wish, but why not leave it for the actual recommendation part?
@victorhenry11 : Quite a few students pursue CFA certifications on campus and have successfully been able to manage clearing the exams for different levels. It isnt difficult to pursue such courses on campus but it does require a lot of effort from your end. Hope this helps!

@ IIMB junta....I have the following query regarding the application form....

Currently i am out of India and the application form states to get the declaration form signed from parent...so, in this case can i sign the form, scan it and send it to my parents, ask them to sign and send me back the form?
So is this double scanning valid??

Is the application to be filled in one single sitting?
Or can i fill it part by part and save it.
