@abhi.iimb Hi Abhishek,
Could you please let us know if there is sectional cut-off for IIM-B?
I scored 99.51 OA
QADI 99.89
VALR 89.35
Acads :
10th - 92.40
12th - 93
B.Tech - 8.33 CGPA out of 10
Work Ex - 30 Months
Does 0.65 in VALR hampered my chances in IIM-B? :(
@akshy I would gladly leave ISB for IIM A,B,C or L. Its subjective I guess. But I want to make a career in Investment Banking and ISB is worse than MDI on that front.
@anupkalani Yes there is sectional cutoff for VA and it was 90. And even if you had cleared that, there was no certainty that you would have got a call unless your composite score was high enough. Hope that helps. ATB...hope you convert some of your other calls:)
@akshy Nope, rejected by A and B. C and L are my only hopes now. And I am an economics graduate and I have heard they really take your case in C interviews. I don't know whats going to happen to me.
Amazing ... IN at 95.2%ile
X - 94.8
XII - 86.4
B.Tech - 8.145
Work ex - 37 months
@abhi.iimb
Wonderful job and my sincere thanks for ur spending of time in spite of your very busy schedule.
Sorry to trouble again.
Just please let us know the insight of the importance of referrals. Means does it carry marks. What role it plays during interview?
Also please answer my previous question.

@abhi.iimb : For referrals, do we need to give names of people from industry or we can also provide those from our college lecturers and school teachers.? Also do we need to upload anything under the undertaking field in the "SOP and other uploads" tab as there is no template attached for the same.
@abhi.iimb said:@theRooK It's a good question: Some general Guidelines: 1.Choose someone who will say all good things about you. 2. If he/she is in a senior position, that's even better. 3. Evaluators you have recently worked with should be preferred.
Hi, so it isnt a issue if I get all three referrals from my work? Or just to show my past I should include my project guide?
@mridulmalpani Thats actually sad.
IIM bangalore never tells how it is normalizing the scores across disciplines and colleges.
@nandhawillcrack The referrals strengthen your profile and you are evaluated during the interview based on that. We don't know how many marks are kept aside for referrals. But nevertheless it plays a very important role in selection.
