its only fair that we see a case for the first time at the real thing. therefore apologies accepted. infact apologies not even required. 😃
fair enough.. and all ze best to u! *doffs hat*

Would like to comment on the case repitition thingie.
Even though on the outset the case repitition looks silly, what i personally feel is that, the case based GDs are not conducted to see what solutions participants generate. Atleast not with most of these 20-30 line cases with little detail. According to me, the panel is looking for the discussion and not the case solutions. GDs helps them to filter out natural leaders and managers in a group. Most of the times the groups may not even reach the solution and end up discussing the case facts only. But still few of people end up converting their GD/PIs from such groups. This only shows that the panel is interested in something more than a mere solution.
And if that is the case, then there is no point whether the case is new or repeat. For that matter GD topics also get repeated.
All said and done, please go through the cases mentioned in this thread. It will give you an edge when it comes to fighting for air time. :)

for the pi they call the people in random order. but seemed like the best performers in each group were being called first (maybe a coincidence)..
.
Hi,
Can you please tell on what basis you thaught that they call people for PI based on there performance in GD. Please tell me as i am seeing my chances of getting selected small.

Hi,
Can you please tell on what basis you thaught that they call people for PI based on there performance in GD.
In my iimi gd panel, out of 8 guys, there were 4 engineers and they called the engineers alternately, interspersing the non-engineers with the engineers. So i got a feeling that they're calling based on profile for a break in monotoniety. Of course this, and the example that tdeepti quoted, might just be coincidental and they just might be calling in any random order (I also feel its the same with the order in which IIMC asks people to summarise the GD in the end. Incidentally, in both cases, I was 7th out of 8!)

i thnk the order was purely random....as i was first person in gd...while second last in pi...and the person who had perhaps better performance than mine had it last and at same time..i feel person who dint perform better than mine was called much earlier...
i blv it is irrelevant to analyse such things...chillax and wait for results....ALL THE BEST.

BTW wot r the total no of final calls send by indore+ wait list9till wot no. was it cleared last yr)
- can we expect results to be out b4
15 apr
as far as my group was concerned...i dont think they called on the basis of ur performance in GD. it was completely random.
Only logic that appealed to me was that it was in order to break the monotony amongst the panel as well as poor souls (us).
order of intrvw in my grp : IT-CA-IT-Fresher-IT-Manuf-BCom

Hi
What I realised later was that in my case, the order of the interview call was similar to the order of speaking in the GD. I remember that the guy who initiated the GD was called first. I was the the second to talk in the GD and subsequently the second to be called for the interview.

I think we shud not be reading too much in the order. After all its the performance at the interview that matters and these are all peripheral and subjective issues.
and once the interview is over why ruminate on these things...not gonna help much! :-)

i think that iim indore 's int/w r longest running (frm 19th feb to 4th apr)
means they have send most no of calls
coming to int/w preference on base of gd perf.
i don't think so becoz in my grp the guy who spoke nothing in gd and was asked to summarise was called 2nd (though he summarised well)
and one thing more i noted is that there were no separate groups 4 different categories

can any senior confirm this
going thru all threads and frm other sources
no of unique calls 4 iim I is maximum than another
so there will be lesser clashes compared to others
given above fact and total no of calls almost same 4 all iims and lesser no of seats indore seems to be most difficult to convert

thanks for the reassurance...
didnt think much of my chances anyway... feel sooooo much better now

i understand completely what is to be on the other side.. when we do all these random calculations about unique calls.. and interview dates and all..
fact of the matter is .. and as you will soon realise it just wont matter.. most of you are done with your personality round and there is little you can do about it. i am sure most of you gave it your best shot..
it sounds a little simplistic .. but its simple.. just let it be .. dont think about all these things. results will be out when they have to be out and those of you who have to be here will be here.. destinies were written the moment you walked outta da interview door for most of you.
you can post your apprehensions and anxieties.. talk them out.. no hassles.. but please dont create confusion.. its like mayhem then .. noone knows right !!

jus to set da record straight.. iim indore would have sent out around 1000 calls.. like almost all other places.. thats what happens every year and as someone told me we still have some important centres left to visit.
rest all is great here.. had our convocation day before . seniorz are gone now.. 😞
and their rooms are jus waitin to be occupied by you:grab:
cheerz
god bless us
