I think tht if the seats r increased frm this year, then surely the calls given for the intrvw must also have been increased!!!!!!!!!!

i have my iim i gd/pi scheduled for 4th of april at indore. i stay at lucknow and will be coming over to indore. i have never been to indore before and have been told by people that iim i is really far from the city. this scares me a bit as i have my reporting at 9am.
could u guys pl tell me if some accomodation is available close by to the iim. if so pl give me address and ph no. it would be of great help to me. thanks

you can stay in any decent hotel in city if you are coming on april 3rd. or better still call up the phone numbers given on call letter and findout if you can stay in iim, i guess they will allow you to stay in iim for 100 bucks per day.
Now coming to how to reach part, whether you are coming by bus or train, take an auto from bus/rail station to iim indore (tell the autowala, IIM Indore, near rau village, the hill on which iim is located is called hanuman tekri). typically they charge you 100-150 bucks. The charges change if you are coming from hotel. There are very good hotels near bus/rail station btw.

Had my GD/PI today at IIM-C at 2:00 PM
GD-Case was about a B-school based in mumbai which has opened up various sattelite campuses across the country for MDP programmes. For pune campus a retired colonel is appointed (15 yrs in Indian Army). Now this guy is from army and now is head of the Pune division... various problems crop up due to his operational behavior....so much unrest among the students and faculties and they complain when dean comes to their campus. what should the dean of institute do!
Decent group and decent discussion...
My performance was average. I tried to give direction to the discussion by looking for objective of the case and then later looking at parameters of solution. Mentioned few things about the problems and discussed various solutions
Interview in random order (i couldn't have been happier since i was the 8th guy in my group
) I was the second guy to be called for the interview 
(i have reasons to feel happy after waiting almost 3 hrs for my turn for my C and L interview)
Three panelist - old loking lady who sat in the centre and who conducted the GD as well. Was clearly the leader of the pack! - we call them C
then there was a prof. on her right. (who asked about acads). Lets call him R
the guy on C's left was 1 who was asking abt general awareness! From now on he would be refered as L
C started the interview with my interest in Internet Piracy. We talked about how it was different from hacking. Ankit Fadia came into our discussion. Then microsoft and anti-trust case and reasons behind piracy etc.. I wanted to flaunt my knowledge on the subject but she cut me short and asked me to mention it in 3 lines. She has no idea what a fascinating story she has missed ....
Then we talked about my failed business venture which i started off right after graduation. What was it all about and why it failed and my learnings from it.
By this time 15 mins must have passed!
then she gave a nod to the R. He started off with difference between BIS and MIS. I told him that i was taking a educated guess and gave him my funda.. Then he asked about datawarehousing. Couldn't give him a satisfactory answer. Then we talked about Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Atleast I had much better understanding of these 2 things. We talked about terebytes and petabytes etc.
Then L takes over.
He was your general awareness man. We talked about NASSCOM. Told them what it was but couldn't remember exactly what the acronym stands for 
when asked told him about present and old presidents of NASSCOM. Then he asked me to name some IT companies apart from the bigges like Wipro , TCS etc. Told him another 5-6 in 3 seconds flat. Then we talked about what the W.B. govt. is doing for growth of the IT industry in the state. Then we talked about Jyoti Basu, Left parties,Trinimul congress.
Then I was asked to leave 😃
More or less a pretty satisfying interview. Anyway I have been waitlisted 24 for XL (BM) which would be confirmed in all probability so less to worry about. Though if they select me I might take it before XLRI. All interviews finished so PARTY TIME

yes i am a bit inclined to joining xlri-pmir over iim i or k but am still very confused as to what my final decision shall be.
i seriously hope u guys at iim i don't hate me for this but i am very much coming to indore as i firmly believe in keeping my options open.
i hope to at least meet some of u guys and help me out of the dilemma of iim i v/s xlri. hope i am not troubling u guys too much. bye
Hey buddy where u can stay in a job for longer time, i mean the field which interests u the most.
u shud not get in astate after 5 years saying tht i nvr wantd to do this job, but now i hv to.....
i mean u shud nt regret 5-7 years down the lane after loosing interest in ur job.

but in terms of pmir vs finance etc.(which stream u wanna join)
the choice wud have been much easier if u wud hv opted for BM.

i agree with u govar. and right now i am very much doing the same (gathering data about b-schools) . earlier even i thought the decision would not be tough but now i realise i know little about the institutes about which i am deciding so i guess i will be taking a more informed decision after getting the most precious opinions and facts from the people who are actually there.

Dont know what to do cos thats the only option i have apart from IIM INDORE .
Hoping that result comes out before 11 april somehow.

me 2 in the same boat !! need to pay up 1.75 at SPjain by 7th april. will get back a refund of 1.4 by 15th. i had called up indore , they said results will come after 11th and bfore 15th. Cud any indore guys confirm this ? me already ditched MDI admit. have IITSOM and IIFT for the cushion. still a hard call to take ......

the B panel pretty clearly told me that the results will be out by the 11th. Thats what has been discussed at various other Ivs..so hang on
