i have just 63% in engg (elecronics) , though 80+ in 10th and 12th.
i have a friend of mine whose is currently gone onsite , and he said he'll send a referral .
should i ask him to send it in a jiffy or mayb wait for a month ?

Frankly speaking I dont have any gr8 liking for coding and s/ws:huh:
I gave CAT 04 but did very badly and m now trying again this year.

Even had calls from hexaware,iflex and mahindra consulting in past but ddint join same for same reason...but now with admission in MBA college in doubt I am really in a big doubt what to do whether to join infy or not

Even so, if you join Infy, dont expect to be writing any ground shattering code. You will be given training and everything you need to know will be spoon fed to you. Dont worry. As far as coding goes, you will have to "unlearn" few things once you join any company and learn to be more mechanical in ur approach cos of the processes you need to follow

Hello niti,
Well I can't say " do not worry about Infy" but just take it casual. I remember you telling something about a new campus shift at Chennai delaying the process. Call them (B'lore campuses numbers on onl my post) to confirm your berth in infy wagon as ramesh said.

I am helping out a US subsidary company here in computerizing their offices here in India..(They at present have 2 offices in India)....and then can join this firm for marketing for this company if i want....
Only thing which is worrying me is can I do the preparation for my CAT this yr after slogging out at INFY

Dude take a chill pill.. I ve been in Infy for 4 months now and I had to wait for 5 months after I got a mail similar to yours to join Infy. If they have sent you a mail that you are selected then you don need to worry at all.. Take a vacation dude.. trust me.. once in infy you don get time for yourself.. unless ofcourse you are on bench!!

so unless n untill ur directly put on a proj.. u'll hv ur trainin @ mysore only... N'joi

Im from non-comp/IT background.( my an ICE engineer) . i want to know if there is any discrimination (on basis of ur background) as to how projects and streams are allocated to u one training has been completed. And do u have to sit idle for 2-3 months waiting for the project??
please reply bcoz this is imp . as i also have offer from flextronics(hughes) in oct.

It is irrelevant whether your are from comp.background or something else to Infy people,
They give you the best training ... and almost similiar to all the people, of course comp.people will have 1.5 months training while others will have 3 - 4 months training. 😃 Well this is the information, I got from other groups. The projects depend on the stream u will be trained upon.. the stream itself is allotted randomly . . . it seems. Of course there is a possibility of sitting an bench... of course that too depends on the stream u r trained on. As far as the training and the growth is concerned Infy is the best.

But Jackal, it isn't that all freshers will be trained at mysore only.. Well i was given Bhubaneswar as my place of training, and as said by infy that may be the place of my posting.. likely. and freshers aren't given projects right after training ..no.

well there have been umpteen instances where freshers hv been put on a proj without training.. recently 100 ppl frm comp sc were sent 2 pune w/o trainin.. nnow 150 of non comp sc only after generic trainin.. these folks will havta have their trainin within one yr of their joinin thts necessary for their confirmation.. so they'll havta to go to mysore only..
in very unlikely cases their trainin can also b arranged by their IBU in their own DC itself by the EnR folks..!!
