I got a mail ystrday tat my training will be @bhubaneshwar dc starting 26th sept...im not from a CS/IT backgrnd....i donot know much abt bhubaneshwar dc..how r the facilities like..accomodation...recreational et all....nd wat technologies they specialize on....nd does the place matter in getting a nice project...nd why is that eventho im from non It i am given bhubaneshwar instead of mysore..can anyboday throw some light on this issue plzzz....

Hello somuchforaname (Can I get your name please...?), Welcome to Infosys Konark(or BBSR). Many of the people joining us at bbsr on 26th are from non-it background.... I have no idea on what infy is upto.. these days. All the career queries none can answer as to why u r placed in bbsr ..? Coming to Infosys, BBSR.. it has a big campus.. your initial accomodation that infy offers would be within the campus itself .. in Employee Care Center. I cleared the written test of infy on 17-july-05 as 1.1 years exp. on java/j2ee technolgies and the interview was on next day(18-july-05). It being aprox 70 or 75% fine... After 9 days(27-july-05), I got a mail form infy..

This is just the usual BS that accompanies regret letters from Companies. Hence dont read too much into this. HR guys usually put in all this so that "Zor ka Jhatka dheere se lagey".

As I have already made it clear, this was a regret letter from Infy and looks like they are not gonna call you. Not my intention to sound rude but just making the situation clear to you.

"we will let you know later" more often than not means "you are out sucker!!!"
in all probablity they are not going to call you ever again! so dont be hopeful. start applying elsewhere if you already havent.
these HR ppl are retards who think that they are actually being nice to the candidate and retaining the image of the company as well ... but the fact of the matter is that they suck!!!

Hi Guys i really appreciate the help provided by you all in this forums. i cleared my written test last week and and then went for the technical test and cleared that one and then they took my hr. After that HR department told me that she is forwarding my cv to the next department for which they are considering me . And for that i have to go through the telephonic round with that department and that will be my last round and after that no HR . Now i will receive email from HR that i will receive call in one or two weeks. I applied for freshers but after the written resut they shortlisted me for the experienced one and that's why i have to go through the technical round. i have experience of bpo of two year and i am working as technical support officer in domain antivirus and provide hign end techincal support by remote sharing and good knowledge of firewall. Now they told me that there IMS department will take my round. Now please let meknow what are my channces for selection and also how tuff is the telephonic round and what they will judge or ask? how to face that and also provide me some information about the IMS department of infoys. I will be very thank full to all of you

I shall not comment about the first part of your mail, as i have no clue whatsoever.:) But i guess, i can give you some information about IMS @ Infy.
IMS stands for Infrastructure Management Services. The client IT Infrastructure is managed through a combination of Onsite/ Offshore resources and systems, and this is done by the IMS. From the Intranet, I can see that IMS offers the following services: 1) Data Center Management 2) Network Management 3) Infrastructure Consulting 4) Application Operational Support 5) Technical/Support Helpdesk.
The Various domains available are: Unix, Windows, Database, Networking/Security and Enterprise Applications.
"IMS ensures that the IT Infrastructure and applications are optimally designed, efficiently monitored and managed on a 24 x 7 basis,so that you have a highly available and secure environment to transact your business."
This is the Information i could get about IMS for the moment. 😃 So, preparing for the interview on these lines should be helpful.

From the list of areas u had worked on, i can decipher that your profile fits into the job which IMS has to offer taking into consideration that they predominantly work on Infrastructure Management etc. To be frank i have no idea about the telephonic round, and lets wait n see if any one can help u in that regard. 😃 But if u permit me to take a wild guess, i can say that they will look for Technical expertise and u'r attitude towards work.

I am not really sure whether Infosys does any Lotus Notes development, but we use Lotus notes for the "Same time Client" and for Citrix systems. And since it is used, i guess there are only administration jobs in Lotus notes. well, i am not sure about this, but i guess i can let u know more about this soon 😃
A month back i saw a job posting from Infosys (US-chicago). That is for 4-6 years LN development.
Does that translates to Infosys india too have LN development.
Also i heard that infosys occasionally call Programmer Analyst without specifying any domains. Am i eligible for that ?
My dream company is Infosys. So i would like to work in any technology if that matters. I am happy even if Infosys wants me to work in other technologies other than Lotus notes.

To be precise my original score was 3708/4700 instead i entered 3704/4700 ( 4 marks less than my ori score). I wanna know if it gonna affect my selection anyway.Wl they cancel my selection cos of this ? Should i approach the concern authority and alert of the blunder i made ? Or should i just wait n watch ?

Iam not sure what score you are talking about, but i guess it is your consolidated score in acads. As long as you donot increase the score it shouldn't be a problem .
Just put across an apology mail saying that it was a mistake, and i guess it shouldn't be a problem. 😃 Dont worry about it.
