ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

With a 610 gmat and no call my hopes are almost nil now.. adding to it my exp is 8 yrs and my current salary is substantially higher than ISB average... All the best guys !!!

I got a skype interview call for 30th Oct πŸ˜ƒ I'm based in New York... All the best to those who are waiting..!!!

Also, this is my first time giving any B-school interview, any tips, resources will be highly appreciated!!

I am especially curious as to what kind of questions could be asked specifically by the ISB panel....

Finally. Got an interview call for next Friday! :)

I too am an international applicant...really grateful for any interview tips, though there have been some excellent pointers on this forum already.

Those who have been interviewed - is the interview more focused on current job profile and industry, or current affairs?

Thanks!

Everything has become all the more unpredictable this year I believe...! I am quite certain that ISB is indeed a re-applicant friendly school, as there were plenty of calls for re-applicants last year around the same time.... and yes, majority were called in the last phase - with just a week to go before the close of IV window... So I guess all re-app folks (like myself) can still wait till the end of this month...
*touchwood*

@fighterlives Do the first time applicants get any calls in the last or last before week?

Hey anyone heard of Sunstone Business School?

@sudhir3127
whats average salary of any one entering isb

The average salary at ISB is 18.8 Lakhs . They said avg outgoing salary is 2.1 times the incoming salary.. A simple math and we know its around 9.3 Lakhs

@sudhir3127 hmmm..but how did u come to conclude the salary of some one with 8 yrs experience entering isb

Cooltyger: I think u got me wrong .. I was just saying that my current sal is substantially higher than the avg outgoing salary at ISB...yes ur right I don't have any clue on the 8 yrs exp people at ISB..but placing such people is in general a little difficult that too if someone like me who comes from Investment banking/PE background considering the state of economy...

@sudhir3127 Don't lose hope. Average is the keyword in your statement. Some are very high and some are very low and some average. In the end, it all evens out and its only the average salary that gets reported. If you've got good reasons to pursue the MBA even though you have 8 years experience and I assume doing well in your career, then you stand a decent chance. Or so I think. Never know what the adcoms and specially the person going through your application is thinking. I hope they've got more than one person to go through the applications.

Is'nt the interview calls for re-applicants really low..Is it always like this for ISB or is it a new trend for ISB? I got the impression from the ISB infosessions that they were re-applicant friendly@nik864u

Even i m surprized n annoyed wid dis

Puys, very few people have shared their interview experiences till now. I am sure many have been interviewed. Please share your experiences and help your mates ;)...

Has ISB contacted anyone's evaluators over the phone till now??

Puys! I've information from a reliable source that ISB is taking time because of the video essays. So don't cease to cross your fingers just yet! Many calls are yet to come I guess! πŸ˜ƒ

@sannidhi I hope thats true :-)

I have a question for reapplicants - How have you approached the forth essay - "How has your profile changed from the time you last applied to the ISB?".

I ask this question specifically as I feel I have answered most of the answer in the first and third essays - "Please make a strong case to differentiate yourself from an exceptional set of applicants applying for PGP 2013-14. You could cite personal/ professional achievements to present your case" and
"Please provide additional information, that will significantly affect the consideration of your application to the ISB".

So is overlap normal or were you able to tell entire different story in each of them ?!?
