Had my interview today
lot of grilling , not quite hopeful
3 days left .... and check!
I think, on the whole I'd have been happier if the entire affair was a month away. Now am obsessionally refreshing my application; login page. Sigh....!
Hi Sudhir,
I was going thru ur earlier posts dated 13th oct i.e. much before your i/v where you have mentioned that your application no. had changed for the 1st time (as has been the case with all of us) and you had said that it was in the 60s...And now according to you it has changed again to 67 for the 2nd time post i/v. Buddy, i was just wondering if its the same no. as b4 the i/v(if this is the case, maybe you would have been mistaken) or a different one (since both are in 60s). Am in the same boat as you and similarly anxious, hope you understand my Friend.
Guys, happy diwali, all of you.
Hey guys, happened to bump into this forum 2 weeks back and must say it has been very useful.
I am an R1 Applicant who got interviewed late evening yesterday. In fact, I was told to be the LAST GUY to be interviewed for R1 at Hyderabad.
The panel consisted of two alums, one of whom continued to work at ISB post graduation. This panel had my application fully read before I was called in and I was specifically asked at the start to "ADD/ELABORATE" to the application and not "REPEAT".
Overall it was much open discussion with the regular prior experience discussions, why MBA, what post graduation etc. The interview was dominated by discussions on my prior experiences as a Consultant. There was also a discussion on how much of a contribution that I expect from ISB considering that I plan to continue in Management Consulting.
At times the discussion went very specific, so much as to which firm I was targeting post graduation, what are the areas concentrated at by these firms, what if ISB could not help me in this endeavour and so forth.
There was quite a bit of cross-questioning, but overall I felt that the panel members were patient listeners for the points I had to say. It ended with a guess-estimate question on TV set market, followed by questions to the panel.
At the end, I would have to say it is a mixed feeling like many others mentioned in their posts. Well, at least on the flip side, my waiting time for the decision is among the least, as during the discussion with the ad-com they mentioned that though there were delays, decision should be expected by 15th or 16th.
I understand currently there are some Delhi interviews and Skype ones pending. So all the best to all you guys getting interviewed today. I dont see a reason for you guys to overprepare, just keep it simple.
Wish you all in the forum, a very Happy Diwali !! Fingers crossed for the D-day.
Damn!... I was very cool and with a dont-care-attitude until someone here mentioned about an App Num change... My peace took a hike and anxiousness crept in when one of them reported a change to a 2-digit number..... As a matter of fact, I haven't even noticed at my app num even once other than knowing it as some 7-8 digit number while submission and just taking note of it that it changed (I dont know when) to a 5 digit number when I checked it now....
Being a techy, I know that unique ids(app nums) are designed to stay static and if they change then it probably suggests that ISB web app internally has different ids for different statuses. The real question now is -> What exactly is the bucket giving out these sequences.
a) decision taken(everybody's statuses should change if this is the case before 15th unless its a waitlist)
b) accepted/rejected/waitlisted (Different no of digits for different statuses or two or more apps getting the same number signifying that they are in different status buckets)
c) Number based on the no of interviews recommendations a specific panel has taken.(Everybody's statuses should change)
d) Number change for applicants based on scholarship recommendations (Only a few app numbers would change in this case).
........... so on and so forth.......
Oh man! my mind is racing with all the possibilities...... Are these hallmarked traits for OCD?
@shrikant0218 said:@sudhir3127 How are you sure of the result timings? Is this confirmed with last year's trend or did you speak with some from Adcom?
guys ..had my interview yesterday....
was a short one around 30 mins....
wats ur take on the interview length...
@sudhir3127 said:@him2asu Just replied to coupled PMs as well on this .. Sorry for the confusion guys .. No intentions to increase the anxiety as I'm in the same boat as well ... My 13 oct downloaded app confirms the number as 2014/1067 and now it's just "67". Is it a change ? I certainly thought so .. Happy to apologies in case you guys feel its not .. Thanks
@ Sudhir
Whats interesting is I am unable to recall whether my app no has changed or not...i.e. I have a very faint memory that it was probably 1961 for me earlier and now its 961 (this i could recollect only after seeing ur post )...However, I am still not sure. :(
