Hey guys... been here for quite sometime... will stick to this thread now.. have given gmat earlier... 670 and awa 5... planning to give it again.. typical I/I/M profile ...actually not much aware bout when to start applying.. was plannign to give GMAT again by jul-aug... but not sure if that would make me too late for 2014 application process... typically when should we apply for r1 2014 and r2 2014.... do we need to start as early as april 2012 :wow:

hi vebmasta, yes i would say your GMAT is on a lower side of the competition pool. yes you would need loads of time for the essays etc. But i believe you would still have time to re-tak GMAT in June and apply for Spt R1.
Essays will take time - so will references. From today until the admission window opens - create a profile word doc - basically whatever u have done since std 12 - academics, extra curriculars, work exp, awards, what u did in work, career goal etc
ISB always ask the following 3 types of essays
1. Personality Essay This is a 'why you' essay. What road blocks have you faced in life/work/proffession, what achievements etc. You might not be a winner but all you have to write in this essay is how you have faced roadbloacks and put in effort to overcome them.
2. Career Progression Essay This is a why mba, what you have been doing, what after MBA - short/long term goals, why ISB essay.
3. Optional Essay You have been handed a white board to paint yourself - do it well. Explain / differentiate / stand out - all yours.
As you get the profile ready - get into thinking mode - what are the justification of MBA, what are your achievements etc. Later on this profile will help you to create an matrix and write essays. believe me this takes time - i had 8 drafts for mine last year.
I ll conclude - get the profile doc ready, take GMAT in june, start app in May.

It was Sept 15, 2011 last time round. This year, it should be similar.
I got a reject in R2 after IV call. I have 2 years of work ex. Fall under your typical IIM category. What can I do for the next 6 months or so to improve my profile ? I'm planning to apply to R1 this year. Can you please give me some suggestions.
I guess you should look at it as one shot for the MBA, you probably will not want to do a second MBA, so, One shot, but I wud say that you can go for the i/v, just for the experience.

Yes... you are right...there is no question of 2nd MBA. One MBA and thats from a school I really want. I have spent 5.5 years that way...hence sometimes toying with options..

Anyway, I was just looking through my GMAT resources and realized that I still have the softcopy for Princeton Verbal Review. Anyone needs a copy? If yes, koi bata do how may I be able to upload it here? I'm a little challenged...with respect to technology

ISB is what i m dreaming of..........can anyone pls help me with how to begin the preps... and how to apply for ISB 2014 class... do we need to apply so early?

10th 87% 12th 85% Btech (civil) from One of the premier instt in India : 73% I m a 2011 passout currently working for LANCO Infratech Ltd. (power sector cum Construction) started working from July 2011 so current work ex is & months... it will be abt 3 yrs by 2014
