You started working in July 2011 and so for CO2014, you work exp considered would be 1 yr 9 months, less than the ISB preferred 2 yrs work exp.
CO2014 mean the graduating class and not the joining class. Basically for this, one will be joining in 2013 and graduating in 2014, hence the name.
For gmat prep, look in relevant PG GMAT thread for more information.
Personal opinion: You have a lot of time in your hands unless u really really want an mba asap. Sit back n build your profile bit by bit in 1 year and try to apply for CO2015 if you think your profile is good by then.
My startup company is no competitor to my current employer! In fact I am working in an IT service sector and my startup company is a product based company where we have developed a web-app product. You could say in probability terms that working at office and working for the startup are two mutually exclusive events!;) If you ask about my role I would say its more or less similar in both the companies. I am playing the technology lead role in both the place (was the architect for my application). Also officially that company is registered in my friends moms name to avoid legal issue. If I get IV call, I hope I tackle them:) Planning to give GMAT before Jun, before the pattern changes.
Generally IT companies don't allow a person to work in multiple organizations officially. So in a way the interviewers posed the right question: it is violation. But in ISB we have the option of saying working part time.

Yes I think I would have signed something somewhere which sould say I am not supposed to work on other ventures. Have to work on this part as how to handle the interviewer.

Hi !! I don't think there would be any clause which says you shouldn't work on other ventures !! I am sure that the clause would say that you should not work in any venture whose products/services would be in direct competition with the company or in any venture which might compromise the "information" trusted upon you by the company !!
In any other case ,the only requirement is that you should inform the company in writing that you are involved in such and such activity outside the company !! You can very well cross check this with your HR and a simple letter to your HR will solve the ethical dilemma !!
The real test for ISB is now.. with the Mohali campus coming up and placing 770 students will be a real HUGE challenge...I'm sure its a big decision for everyone to leave his/her job and come to a school. All the more difficult for 6/7+ years workex students with 15-20+L salaries.....I will be keenly watching the placements of ISB this year.

Felt that i definitely screwed up modulus, inequalities probs in Quant.
A 50 in Quant and 40+ in Verbal should do the trick for me :)
:clap::clap::clap: Keep the efforts going!!
I would worry more about a sectional imbalance (not that your score reflects one). If I were you, I wouldn't focus too much on Quant (because it's in our genes to crack it even without any prep ) but diligently stay at Verbal
I and 2 other friends started a company in 2010. Its a web based software product. It didnt go well and we had very few clients at that time (We still have that company running though).
Dude...its great..if u have put in enough efforts on the startup... an amazing story can be spun around it ..that will attract the attention of the interviewers...100% i/v call milega...
hint: tell them where u feel ur product failed to take off , even though the apparent appeal...try connecting the shortcomings from what u can learn from ISB and then again take an attempt at ur own venture...
forget about rest of the stuff...integrity and all...no one would bother to probe all that... they ( i/viewers) are there to learn about u and ur story and check if u fit in scheme of things, they dont care about other non-issues
ok I have a query... I heard somewhere you can apply to ISB only twice.. I am wrong...ai ???
You can apply as many times as you feel like. However, what you really have to think is that if someone has already made two attempts then perhaps the school and the candidate are not really meant for each other.
Besides, ISB admissions are hardly the education world's answer to MTV Roadies, I seriously doubt that the admissions team will be impressed if you apply every year for 6-7 years in a row!!! π
