@naman.tuteja said:@siddhu80thanks buddy....reject is not a problem...but a clear picture is required from them... people have different perceptions of not having an interview itself...some think they might get one in R2,....so ISB needs to be clear...
Naman, its hard to make generalizations about GMAT scores or work experience. Some people have been getting in with scores of 680 whereas others have got rejected with scores above
720. Same with work experience - read about some people with 2 years work experience and 8 years workex getting admits.
Maybe you did not put together a strong application. Some common reasons for a reject could be lack of career progression/ confused career goals or lack of achievements, lack of maturity, or screwing up the interview.
So, if any you are applying to other b-schools, its probably time to analyze where you went wrong so that you do not make the same mistakes again.

Count me in for waitlist.. couldn't wait one long day for the results, waiting until march expecting to be IN would be nerve busting for me.. so relaxing thinking i am dinged.. if ever i get in, it is ok.. any case can go to bed with peace of mind assuming to have been DINGED.
got a mail this morning regarding admission with scholarship and the technical glitch.. finally got the offer at 2:40 PM today..
I'm not sure why ISB is not thinking about the practical problems for the international candidates... if they convert my status from waitlist to admit in 3rd week of march and assume to be attending classes from april, means for me to shift residence from foreign country within 2-3 weeks time..:) next to impractical... lots to take care about.. I'm sure it is also problem for local candidates but for its worse for international.. they could just have told NOT ADMITTED instead... Is there any one out there who also applied for IIM-B?
Thanks for the detailed reply. As I mentioned, reject is not a problem. It gives us a chance to rethink and improve, however ISB needs to be clear with the status on their portal...there is no communication and it results in a lot of different and diverse opinions. In addition, myself and a number of other people have not even been interviewed. So as I said, it's better ISB updates the portal for such candidates with correct updates :)
I will be moving forward with my applications in other B-Schools...currently awaiting results from IIM-B and WHU Germany.
Many Thanks
Naman
I have seen there are dedicated threads on PG for wait-listed candidates every year. It is time we start that and discuss our options there. Tell me if it has already started.
