Hi All,

Got an offer for the PGP 2013, but just found out that my request for a deferral into PGP 2014 has been accepted. So, will see some of you @ ISB in 2013!

All the best for your applications!

Hi,

I too have got an admit for 2013 batch for Mohali campus, which I would like to defer for a year. Can you plz share the process for the same ? And do I need to pay the 2 admission fee, even before my deferral is considered by the adcom ??

Thanks,
Shilpi

I dont think deferrals are so easy...there shud be a strong reason to do so

Get in touch with the admissions team, they will let you know of the procedure. Btw why do you want to defer? As far as I understand, a deferred admission is not automatically granted just by asking, you need to have a strong justification for it.
I think there was some talk on one of the forums where it was said that in order to defer you'll need to pay around 4L apart from giving a good reason.

I would like to defer because I have applied to only one b-school so far, and I am not convinced enough to settle for Mohali, and not make a second attempt. Agreed that there is nothing wrong with the Mohali campus, but I think still have more and better options to explore.
What is I just decline the offer and re-apply next year, would that reduce my chances of getting into ISB ?

Hi,
I have an admit from ISB Mohali, but I am not sure of joining. Just wanted to know if anyone here has got an admit from ISB once, and declined it (may be due to waitlist in other colleges, etc.), and got it again next year ??

Just want to know whether declining an offer this year has any adverse effect on my candidature for next year ??

Plz share any insights, very urgent !!!

Bhai logon,

Wassup? am on vacation so am not able to log onto pagalguy that frequently. kya chal raha hai?

Of course there are no official rules regarding this but in my opinion if you are offered a seat and decline it then you can say goodbye to your chances :|

A lot of effort is spent in selecting a candidate and the admissions committee will not take kindly to people just walking away in order to "explore options"!

If the ad-com sees your application again next year the first question they will ask (and justifiably so) is: "How do we know she is serious this year and not just wasting our time again?". So please carefully think about your options and course of action before you decline an offer.

1) Please detail your two most significant achievements. These could either be personal or professional but relevant to your application to the ISB.
2) Where do you see yourself three years after you graduate from ISB?
3) Please provide additional information that will significantly affect the consideration of your application to ISB.

There is one more for re-applicants. Not sure about it.

For re-applicants there is a 4th essay. basically about how one's application has bettered since the last application.

Hi,
I have a 680/5 in GMAT (Q 47 V 36). I am looking to improve my score, but I need to give the exam before June 5 since the pattern is changing then. I need a study partner who is looking to improve his/her score. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks.

Hi Everybody and especially the puys from Bangalore,

Firstly sorry for missing out the :cheers::cheers::drinking::drinking::drinking::drinking:at stones/peecos .. I neither got rejected nor accepted .. but ended up waitlisted. was utterly disappointed never the less... but was still hopeful .. on 6th march was disappointed again .. when my waitlist didn't disappear... I am still waitlisted. But my hope has ended.. it took me some time to get back .. but I am here .. and here with more fight in me than ever before

So any other preparation sessions planned πŸ˜ƒ ??

its nice to see so much activity on this thread... it actually took me over a day to reach this page πŸ˜ƒ .. I def think this time we'll reach 2K pages..

As a recap/introduction here is my profile,

GMAT - 720/5.5 ( Q49 , V 40 )
Engg - 79%
12th - 90%
10th - 93%

IIM - 2.9 yrs ex till march 12 in the RnD wing of one of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies.
- Got promoted in my second year itself at half the time the rest of the ppl do.
- Lead a team of 5 in a dev module. and in parallel handle some components as a product owner.
- Been part of transitions from US, Brazil and China
- Also handle interactions with marketing and other functions.
- Presented a paper in a worldwide tech conf. It is in process of turning into a Patent

ECs - Into environmental issues. Have taken up many initiatives and have this mentioned in my Recos. But have no certificats.
- No NGO work
- Cricket and Badminton Capt for school and coll. Continue to represent my org in corp tournaments

- Scholarships at college and many awards during work
- Interested in travel and adventure sports - had many examples prepared.. and wanted to talk about a lot of experiences.
My Interview Experience is there somewhere b/w 620 and 630 in the co 2013 thread.
For a jist:

It lasted about 45 min ( though it felt like 20 at that time )
2 panelists - questions around my work .. why MBA ( had written this well in my App i felt)
something around what after MBA
mostly around my first and second essay.

There was no cross questioning

1 case study - this is where i screwed up i think..

WHY ISB ... Why not IIMA.

What if Mohali ..

Any questions for us ...

it was a very cool discussion .. i spoke a lot and even extracted smiles out of the poker faces. But was not confident because of the Case study mishap.. wasn't well prepared for it because i felt it would be only for the consulting folks ( a big mistake)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway .. for round 2 ..

I plan to improve my GMAT - what say folks ?? useful ?? useless ??

Change my profile - get out of the IIM ( software enng/ developer ) profile and into something that i want do post MBA.. pref at my org itself

do something awesome the next 4 months to stand out πŸ˜ƒ - planning to stand beside a bridge all day hoping for a bus to fall into the river to rescue ppl from it - .. kidding ..

Planning to apply to R1

-Thats it for now :)

Hey,

Firstly class of 2014 means . the class graduating in 2014 - so class starting in 2013.. ISB term is from April to April and This year's admission process is over. The next round will be to the batch starting in 2013 April.

There are 2 rounds of admissions.
Application process for th first round starts around June and ends mid sept.
and the second starts from Sept and ends in November.

Interviews for round 1 start in August and results come out in mid November. For round 2 it lasts from Decemeber to Feb and results generally come out in mid Feb.

statistically/Generally 30 - 35% of the seats get filled in R1 and the rest in R2

You can plan for you GMAT anytime of the year. But keep in mind you would need time to build your application. I took a month to write mine and at the end felt i was easily a month short..

Hope this answers everything
