Puys, please help me out I really the advice of someone experienced.... I appeared for GMAT this year & surprisingly got a score of 760....Now due to family related problems, I will have to stay in INDIA but i dont want to compromise on my MBA degree.....As such ISB is my one and only option....Now though my GMAT score is good and class 10, 12, graduations marks are also above 90 but the MAJOR problem that i am facing is my work-ex....I will be having a work-ex of only 24months as in April and ISB 2013 batch has an average work-ex of 5years & the lowest work-ex being 2.7 years.... So plz tell me impartially, does it make sense applying to ISB next year? Is there any realistic chance of my conversion? Plz reply unbiasedly to this....
Quality always matters more in work-ex than quantity.Quantity is a factor which reflects your consistency at work.If you can showcase in your app that you had high quality experience in two years and took initiatives at work place which made an impact in some form, then you can always go ahead and apply. The best thing with ISB is that it is a re-applicant friendly school so even if you do not make it the first time 'round you can always work on things based on their feedback and re-apply in future.
P.S.: Please do not go modest on your achievements.Your GMAT is indeed a great score and you should be proud of it.If you are to make it to any top B-school you have to sell your achievements confidently.
hey.....thanks guys. I'm surprised at myself that I didnt know that Mumbai is not the place where they interview candidates, considering they have mentioned it on thier websites. I even mailed the ad-com urging them to arrange for an interview in Mumbai, if possible.
So stupid of me!! I hope they dont cancel my invite :D
I have been reading the daily updates and I am also waiting for my Interview call. Is it just me or somebody else feels that the I/v calls are kinda sorted by GMAT score !!!!!
