ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

Anyone from Chennai region, Hyd(Chn) yet to receive a verification mail?

@MBAspirant10 My friend had a similar problem. I hope you got a confirmation mail from ISB that they received your GMAT score from GMAC. Forward the same mail to ISB indicating that you already received a confirmation from ISB. You need to mail it to *******@isb.edu
@shashican No probs dude, we are meeting again tomorrow at 11:00 AM. Do ping me on my email if you are willing to join us :)

bingo...I too spotted the same pattern...don know whether we r right.....but all calls till now seem to be for ~730-740 GMAT score...
Even I know somebody with a 750 who got interviewed today. Possible that the correlation is right.
@Phoenix10 I know someone with a 620 who is getting interviewed on Monday and someone with a 690 who got interviewed yesterday. So much for all the theories! :P
@Phoenix10 guys I am 730 hyd(mum)....no iv call yet....i dont think ISB works in this way

Hmm... looks like the theory is not really true. Was wondering how ISB is sending the interview calls without having verified all the applicants. What if the last viewed applicants were more competitive than expected ?
@Phoenix10 Then they will invite them all for an interview. I don't think ISB has a hard set rule that they need to maintain a particular ratio between number of applicants and number of interview invitations sent. And moreover they know what kind of profiles to expect and what kind of profiles to shortlist depending on previous years applications. There won't be any disruptive changes in a single year.

@sudhir3127 dude, looking at that I dont know why they even bothered with an I/v, seedha admit :)
@asifmohammed Which interview location did u opt for? I chose hyd(chn) and I'm still waiting for the verification mail..
@karthiknitt I opted for Hyd. So, the verification process is still in progress !!

hi everyone, i just want to get an idea if i have any shot in nri quota (if exists) my background is that i'm a dual (us/indian)citizen. i'm aiming for isb 2014. so i'll have close to 4.5 years of exp by then. I am a CPA by qualification. I"m currently working in SAP consulting now.

I went to college in US graduated with 3.8/4 gpa from Va Tech. My GMAT is a downer as I only have 650. My profile might be a bit interesting due to my work experience. i worked as an auditor then quit to start a job in consulting in india ( i worked in hyderabad) and then worked in USA again. Do I have any shot? I dont think I can bring up my GMAT any higher.. damn data sufficiency questions!! I only got 4/14 of those. anyways, please share your inputs.

to summaryize: 650 GMAT w/ 4.5 years of exp. CPA (similar to CA) NRI.
@Manegger
@delatpg Thank u for the encouraging words πŸ˜ƒ I really appreciate it πŸ˜ƒ The problem is that had it been ANY other institute, they would've given quite a bit of priority to my score [For eg- Someone wid 99.99%ile in CAT + Decent acads usually ends up at IIM BLACKI SURELY] but ISB ,being such a high-profile institute, seems less likely to get carried away by my score & as per ex-students, they are pretty fastidious about each and every aspect of an aspirant's profile [Awesome score+Acads+Extra-curriculars+Work-ex], if even one parameter is lacking u tend to lose out.... So my seniors say that I should leave out ISB and aim for IIM as it is supposedly pretty difficult to convert ISB at even 3yrs work-ex.... I am very confused as ISB as u know is......well, ISB. So its not easy giving up that dream at the drop of a hat.... What do u guys think?? :O

Ask yourself. Will you be able to live with the fact that you never gave it a shot mate.

With your workex you are a bit lightweight as I said already and you are against tough competition. Its not that they will look at your GMAT and say, oh my god lets take this little genius in our program. But a 760 does raise eyebrows and shows potential. If youve achieved things in your featherweight exerience you never know. So athough it would be an uphill task, but in my opinion it is not impossible, specially if you have done good in your job.
