ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

hey ccsd,

admissions open so soon? i believe class of 2013 just receiving accepts / rejects.

By the way there are two rounds where applicants can apply for admission right?

So if one doesn't apply now, can apply in later half of year for class of 2014?

Can a person rejected in first round apply again in second?

thanks in advance

let me take the onus to answer your queries......

As you rightly mentioned, there are two rounds of app.....deadline of 1st is in mid sept and 2nd is in Nov end.Since ISB would be through with its admit cycle for CO2013 in a week or so,we can expect R1 for CO2014 to start anytime after April 2nd week.If you do not meet the deadline for R1 then you can sure go ahead and apply in R2.

Can a person rejected in first round apply again in second?

Well, i don't think so.Once you have been dinged you cannot apply for the same admission cycle.IMO, no university across the globe permits that. Also,Once a B-school has rejected your app you need to show a significant improvement in your app to re-apply.Applying in the same admit cycle would mean that you have not given your non-selection a serious thought and worked upon it and no B-school would appreciate that.

Hi Guys,

When do the R1 applicants interviewed and their results declared for ISB? Does ISB accept rolling application?

Last year it was mid Sep for the submission and mid Nov for the results. they do not take on the rolling basis. they follow two rounds of applications.

My class size was 574 to be exact when we started out. This dwindled a little as a few students left for other schools.

Apart from regular weekend on-campus information sessions, you could mail the admissions committee requesting for a campus visit (they have specific programs). If I am not mistaken you also get to have lunch with a current student if time permits (you need to check if this is still being done).

I remember hosting several students in my quad during my year there. Try and get in touch with someone in the new batch directly or shoot me a PM and I could help connecting you to someone (after the new batch commences).

I don't know about counselling from CL or IMS.. Their is a counsellor thread available on PG..You can post your query there..You will get better answers there.

Regarding your profile, it sounds good and the fact that you have your goals well defined,is an advantage.
Write to ISB post April and get a profile evaluation done and a counsellor to talk to.

Mustang,
Can you please give the link to the counsellor thread in PG?

They dont reject someone until end of R2. So if you apply for R1 you still may get a call for an interview with the R2 folks from Nov 2012- Feb 2013.

People can get rejected after R1. No R1 candidate is put on the waiting list without going through an interview so if at the end of R1 a person has not been called for interview then their application stands rejected for that year.

I would have to slightly disagree there for at least for the class of 2013 folks who applied in R1 were called for interviews in Late November and December (When R2ers were being interviewed). I agree if a call does not come through until end of R1 it is highly likely someone is dinged but the call may still come through but very unlikely.

Njoy.

Hey Puys, where to mail the request for reject application feedback from ISB?

Thanks!

Hi,

If any of you are looking for an unofficial feedback on your applications (not from ISB), we are helping out PG forum members with it.

So anyone interested can PM me their essays along with their profile details.

Namita at MBA Decoder

Not to steal MBA Decoders thunder - but if there are re-applicants/new applicants looking to get their past application analyzed (by an ISB alum) πŸ˜ƒ then you can always send me a PM as well.

Best,

Roshan

*Knock knock* Koi hai..??

Hi puys,
Back in Feb when the ISB R2 results were out there was a talk that ISB would give feed back to rejected candidates in April. Its April now and i was wondering if anybody has managed to get a feed back, if so please let me know how to go about it.
