suchit.pandey SaysFrom where did u guys see the portal open for 2013 admissions..i can still see the 2011 dates as deadlines??
You can have a look at the ISB site. The portal has already opened. I can see the year 2012-2013 dates for CO2014.

@WhiteWNNoiseso: so,it's first time indeed.Even i feel its a good initiative and a chance to make yourself stand out.I feel ISB's app is little more tricky and interesting this time around including a case study;a more tricky essay que. rather than short term and long term goal type;this video upload thing.I am all geared up.
WhiteWNNoise Says31 March 2013 is the date that ISB takes into account for Work Experience.

Folks, there is only one ideal time to write GMAT. "When you are ready". Do not write it just for applying for R1. If you do that in a hurry you not only jeopardize the chances of getting a good score, you also hamper you app as a low GMAT score might work against you when there is close competition among peers.
I just happened to have a look at the IR section, a video from Manhatten GMAT. It does make a lot of things clear about IR. So the new pattern should not scare you.
Also do not make the mistake of sitting on your app the whole time while you think of giving the GMAT or prepare for it. Many a brave souls have lost battles in committing such a sin. App preparation is not only GMAT. One should start checking off things in the app that can be finished off easily. Also one should not hesitate in starting with the essays. Please, Please, Please, Please do not wait for the GMAT score to start the essays. There is no connection.
@WhiteWNNoise and all seniors:
What in your opinion should be the structure of the video? Should it be totally focused on strengths or on justification of weaknesses in application?
Also, I am a reapplicant, so wanted to know what ISB expects to see in the additional essay for a re-applicant?
You need to get a detailed feedback from ISB Adcom on why you were not selected.
The re-applicant essay must focus on those shortcomings primarly and then concentrate on how well you have improved profile as well.
Me: Reapplicant from Co2013 as well.

i guess, it should show March 2013.. is there anything wrong?

Also, I am in a bit of dilemma about projecting change at professional gate..given no new promotions have occurred in this 1 yr...even the on site chance knoking is gone as of now :(
Doing so far so well dude. The old gang will rock along with the new additions and hopefully some of our buddies from ISB who were in the forum last year will chip in once in a while.
WhiteWNNoise Sayswelcome back buddy. How have u been.... I have been waiting for our old gang to become alive
Hi,
Please evaluate my profile. I have a very poor academic record. Let me know whether applying to ISB makes sense or not-
Xth - 70% (1999)
XIIth - 72.4% (2001)
Grad (B.A. (H) Economics (2004) (Delhi University) - 48% :(
CFA Level 3 completed (CFA Institute, USA)
Four years of experience in financial modeling and equity research
1.5 years in a leading KPO
2.5 years in a software firm (mid-sized)
Writing GMAT about two weeks from now, scoring betweeen 730-760 in mock tests
If i get a good score in GMAT (like 740), does it makes sense to apply to ISB? or should i leave it altogether because of acads??
Please help
Abhi
Though it may sounds very funny, but I would really advice that as far as work is concerned, don't get too hung up on the feedback from ISB ad-com. It is a factor that you only loosely control, besides ISB would know that they started issuing feedback at such a late stage that at least in terms of work experience/opportunity/profile nothing much can change.
Usually something or the other would have happened at work that you could mention, besides the application would (probably) expect you to explain how is your profile different from last time and not just your work.
If nothing else works - write, "I am more mature now", perhaps you'll get some points for humor/cheekiness ;)
PS: No offence meant, I was a re-applicant myself so I can understand very well whats you guys are going through. All the best!

Well, I do know that recommendations can be simply reused (i.e. no need for anyone to write anything, they will reuse last year's recos) but don't know if essays are looked at or not. Being an applicant it's better to prepare for the worst and just assume that they will go through last year's essays as well - so your story has to be consistent. As for other details, it wouldn't matter since there's nothing to change, right? Unless of course, you have cracked the mystery behind time travel and are now in a position to change your Xth board score ;)
Well, clearer goals is obviously a good change to have on your side but just ensure that you communicate it effectively as well. I think whats important is to substantiate whatever you state with facts (whenever possible) and make a persuasive + mature argument for your views/goals etc.
WhiteWNNoise SaysHey Sourav, yes there is a problem with the app as it shows till March 2012 and not 2013. I called up ISB's L1 support guys and informed them of the issue. They said that they will look into it and will resolve the issue soon.

Hi Puys,
I am new here and would really appreciate if some of you would answer some of my queries as well as evaluate my profile. Please plzz be kind to guide as per my queries..
This is my first attempt at GMAT and ISB is my only motivation for it, so please evaluate with respect to that.
My Profile:

As a hobby, I love playing musical instruments like guitar, piano and write and compose music as well..
Now my questions:
1. What are my chances for ISB considering 700+ score at GMAT?
2. What are the good foreign colleges which I must apply to with my profile?
3. Where can I get the code of colleges which we have to enter at the end of GMAT, when asked to send scores to five b-shools?
4. Where can I get the list of top B-schools abroad that accept GMAT scores?
5. How much do the 10th, 12th(CBSE) scores matter (Did good in 10th, bad in 12th)?
Cant thank u puys enough to take out time to read this and actually reply to this as well...
Waiting ur reply..
Hi Puys,
Also it will be good if you could recommend a few good mock tests for GMAT..
I can only appear for 3-4 before my GMAT, so guide accordingly...
Thanks..
