ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

haha..that does seem true, an alum however mentioned that they were offering rolling admissions as well, so apparently some folks from R1 were given admission offers within a couple of days of their interview. And it's been giving me sleepless nights since I had my interview on the 18th. Do you have any news on this? I have tried going through quite a few forums, but haven't found anything that suggests this, thus far.
All ISB R2 decisions are released ONLY on Feb 15

i have the same question. on the website it says "on or before Feb 15" so is there any chance of getting calls before 15th or is it only on 15th itself?

@isbaspirant12 No worries bro.I strongly believe in what I say. Getting into ISB is not a must.If you get in good. If not doesnt matter. Its like you wanted to eat rasgulla and restaurant gets you rasmalai. (ok lame joke but hope u got the point)I am pretty sure you know what you wanted post MBA and stick to your guns man you shall achieve that.ISB is not a must for us to follow our dreams.Cheers,
Thanks bro fr ur advice.. yup , I m gearing up nw fr othr b-schools

The info doesn't sounds credible to me.So far i know that none of the R1 applicant heard from ISB before NOV 15th on their admit decision barring international applicants. As far as R2 is concerned, i myself sought an early decision from ISB adcom but they insist on sticking to feb15 deadline for making any offers.
thanks dude, now I can chill till (at least somewhat) till the 15th. πŸ˜›

@waterman@Kode_A@ammo44@raghupro@swnaguys you have no idea how much better i feel after hearing your thoughts. thanks for the undying never ending support.i would like to point out here, that i love the positive spirit all the puys have here on this thread. even though we are all competitors in a way.. competing for ISB admits, but the support and appreciation shared by people like you makes this journey and battle a lot more meaningful and easy to tackle. i wish i encounter such "team mates" throughout my career.
Bus kar Pagle.. ab Rulayga kya.... :' )

Cheers,

Very few calls reported off late... I guess ISB is preparing for the final dash of interview calls!! Next week and a half is set to be an exciting one!!

And Talking about Ventures and Business ka keeda...
let me share with you guyz what u all already know:

Number of Seats: 770
Fees per Fella : 25L = 0.25 Cr (for jus for convenience )

Total Paisa by Mid Apr with ISB = 192.5 Cr INR
Say 2.5 Cr goes in Charity , I mean Scholarship.

Total Kamayee = 190 Cr INR/Annum (34.55 Million USD)

In this money they maintain the infra, security guyz, chai wala, sawai wala, pay profs, their travel, their stay, tie up with other colleges must be costing them good money.

Assuming they earn 1% Profit (assuming they do)

Profit from one batch : 1.9 Crs INR (appox. 345,500 USD/Annum)

Long Story short: Mr. Rajat Gupta " AAP ESTUDD HAI

And we are talking about coming up with out of the box ideas to start an venture.
College khola (oldest trick in the book) and minting left and right

Cheers,

Hello everyone...
I need your help..

I am in a dilemma right now..
I have around 30 months of experience in an IT Major...

My Profile is

Xth - 79%
XIIth - 65%

Engg - 72%

I have many certificates under my belt for extra currics..

How much GMAT score is needed to get a call and convert ISB??

also my work profile is partly software dev. and software testing

do reply

@SilentAssassin you need 740 atleast. To set your self unique from other highly experienced IT pool. I would suggest go for MS in US and then MBA from US top 20
Thats a simple and crisp way of doing things with ease. I wish I was told this like 4 years before. Itna pasina ladaneka jhanjat nahi hota...

I am one of the silent observers of this thread. I received an interview invite today @ 10 AM for Jan 30 . I have a pretty average profile - GMAT 710 , work ex of 6 years in clinical & research administration in a big university hospital (US) . I am a first time applicant.

There is still hope for all the puys out there who are waiting for an interview :)
@docinus i think healthcare calls would come in bulk... πŸ˜ƒ waiting for good news!!

@waterman Apne ko Bhi kisi me nahi bataya.. Isliye learnt the hardway. Always wanted to be like Rajat Gupta but ended up with no Trial and penalties ...;:;)))
@SilentAssassin
740 is easy said than done :)
What we need to understand is MBA is not shortcut to Jobs on Wallstreet or 6 digit salaries.

Many of my batch mates are doing wonderful without MBA degrees or any masters rather.
They are good at what they do and are getting good offers and promotions in their respective field of work IT, Purchase div in manufacturing, SAP consultants, Sales, Marketing etc etc etc

my point is: Make a 2 - 3 yrs plan if u really think u need an MBA to grow in your career.
Work on your profile. Its not a sin to be from IT. But it is if thats the only thing on your profile.
By having Extra Curricular activities and NGO stuff all the schools want to see is that you have a life and you enjoy it. Not a Mr. or Ms. Bore.

See what you are passionate about- go for classes, see how you want to give back to our society - join particular NGO which shall make you feel happy.

Date chicks from different states or from different countries (ok that would earn you respect in my eyes... not sure about MBA colleges πŸ˜› )

Make your time count and other things shall happen for you.

Cheers,
