Why cant they just send the Rejection mail..so that its done and over with and we actually get on with our lives doing something productive !!

This has been the problem every-year... when they rollout interview calls in a phased manner, they can as well send out rejection mails too that way....

Hi Guys, I know this is not a correct post but I really need info how to crack GMAT and get into ISB. I have 3+ yrs of experience in IT. I request anyone to guide me choosing best institute for GMAT coaching and guide me for ISB process.Thanks in advance

I guess it may not be so easy.. Consider a case.. a candidate is sent a reject e-mail and after going through rest of the application, ISB thinks that the candidate who was rejected earlier is much better than the remaining pool.. in this case a relatively better candidate will be at loss.. as you must be aware, our fate also depends on the quality of the other applicants..
My take is as below:
ISB must be sending i/v invite to those who definitely deserves a call.. and there is no harm because if ISB comes across a better profile later then it can always call that candidate and finally select the best candidate..
this process will give ISB flexibility.. although for people like us (i am also still waiting for i/v call) wait is excruciating, i firmly believe that this process gives us best chace..

Partly agree with you... ISB can straight away send out the interview shortlists of exceptional profiles that they would have come across . But the point is, with less than 2 weeks till the last interview, how many un-reviewed apps would the adcom be sitting on ? it won't be a huge number or else it would be a monumental task for them to interview in large numbers at this point of time and then be left with only a week's time to give out the final admits... They surely would be using a grading criteria "yes","no","maybe" for a shortlist and they can atleast send out the rejections for the "no" so that ppl can start looking elsewhere...

Date chicks from different states or from different countries (ok that would earn you respect in my eyes... not sure about MBA colleges )
ROFLMAO

@klewless Agree that the entire proccess will be delayed but this ensures that every candidate gets a fair chance.. so i guess wait is worth.. :)

let's keep hoping.. :)

but if my memory serves right, you already had your i/v.. right?

@freesurfer thank you...

Fight Banta hain yar, ek zyada fight marta hain aur doosra kam lekin sab fight kar rahe hain. Aur dahej ka koi contention hi nahi, bilkul on the target. Unfortunately we need to fight it out from such a huge group of aspirants for a seat in the ONLY bschool (Ok lemme clarify, there are IIMs ka PGPEX lekin I do not see it as an equivalent to ISB MBA, it is a completely different setup) that admits through GMAT. And being from IT is another sin, to wash off all your sins you need an elixir called high GMAT score. Kuch tho chahiye to fall in the eyes of ad coms.
Apna Profile aisa hai ke shaadi ke liyeh Dahej Dena Padega πŸ˜ƒ Milne se raha kutch πŸ˜ƒ ha ha ha ha ha

@rahulmarwah You are best fit for ISB. Any other Bschools you tried. Your profile is good for M7 USA. Have you tried?
@ammo44 True that.
If I have to put my money on anyone for getting a call from ISB I would put on @rahulmarwah ... Profile is kadak.
Hope he makes it (Its ISB.. one just cant be sure of anything πŸ˜ƒ )

Cheers,
@whizZdumb No dude, panel 7.

hi guys, I am good at quantitative section but not that much good at verbal.. please suggest me a good book to prepare..
Hi
Can u tell me in which section (verbal) RC, CR or SC u r facing problem?

@watermanor else one must post a video that they have never seen like "life to me is taking risk" and a video showcases a desperate MBA aspirant running towards the train like AMIR KHAN in the movie GULAM if you have a low GMAT for ISB or else IT guy can also post a threatening video with AK-47 and Osama look alike by the side.India is a tough place for everything, if if you want to drink water which is free you have to be in a queue if arent lucky enough to have Budweiser. And the difference to fight for what is significant here when we compare a third world under construction MBA with the renowned and already established MBA. Its the difference between developed general MBA and struggling third world DIPLOMA IN MANAGEMENT. Its not me but they say , who created the world rankings and Rajat Gupta
Fair enough, and the hard fact is that things haven't improved since some time now. We hardly see decent skoools coming up since the happening of ISB (Its been more than 11 years). Barring the ones like great lakes which is isn't a jaw dropping proposition. So point is when Indian GDP grew to 4 times its size since 2000 why cant quality education multiply by the same factor? After all economic progress demands and needs more people with qualitative perspective on business to bolster it and drive it forward.

Arey yar, at least let us spread out a different approach ab khud accept kar hi liye tho dahej poochne ka sawal hi nahi utega...stay confident stay foolish...:)

@kode_A: thanks πŸ˜ƒ

I can solve medium (difficulty level) questions in CR. But SC and RC needs more improvement.

Puys - I just called ISB and they informed that i/v calls for Delhi/Mohali are still being rolled out . They did not tell a date till when they will be rolling out these calls. In case we did not receive an i/v invite, they will send the rejection email after 15-Feb.

Btw - anyone here who received an i/v invite for Delhi/Mohali in the past 2 days?

Confused about that ray of hope. The activities on this thread and information from ISB are kind of contradictory. Keeping my fingers crossed with a leap of faith. Good luck friend and wish you best !!
@vbinani great news .... the hope boat sails again
