Paani wale Bhaiya (aka@waterman ) I agree with the trend point.Most of us dont even need an MBA to grow in our career. But again MBA too is a trend more than necessity for most of usCheers,
Sirji...aap sabko duba denge...we need MBA... don't say this even in your dreams :)...
@udyansharma , I am so sorry that I am seeing this post only now. I really must say that our mock sessions helped a lot.. Thanks to you, simran and mohit. Now for the long wait.
@ammo44
Dood..I donno what your intension was in the last post..
If you meant that girls get in easily, lets leave that loser attitude giving reasons that someone is a girl cand and so got thru.
N if it was meant to be funny, it wasnt actually!!

Hey Puys,

I had a very generic question about the waitlist that ISB creates. There is no transparency in the wait list process I think. There are no wait list numbers given to the candidates, and no criteria explained as to why and how will their profiles will be re-evaluated and the accepted/rejected. Does any body have any info on how this process works? I ask cuz one of my friends (not a puy) applied in R1 and is wait listed.

Also, FYI for all, another of my non-puy friend got an i/v call today. Her i/v is in Mohali on the 1st. Just wanted to share so we can keep the hopes still going.

Hey puys,
I have compiled a list of the important questions one should prepare for ISB iv or any other B school iv.
This is just a personal list based on my interaction with applicants, alumni, students, ADCOM.
It seems answers for these questions should be very well thought and clear.

Feel free to personalize the list/add/update/edit/re-share

This thread has lost steam I guess

@ammo44 Hi ammo, its technology consulting in Telecom domain..

Puys.....FT2013 rankings out......ISB dropped from 21 last year to 34 this year...though rankings does not influence me personally but still a point.....

http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/global-mba-ranking-2013

@daktarbabu: Thanks for sharing the latest FT rankings.

I javen't gone through the details but something is not right. ISB is at 34 with schools like CUHK and Nanyang Business above ISB. Even IE (Spain) is so high up...beats me.

My 2 cents regarding ranks : ISB opened up its mohali campus last year, meaning a burden of placing extra students and maintaining the new infra. I feel during the initial years the rankings are bound to take a hit (i was kind of expecting this). But, if ISB can absorb the initial impact and if we look at the distant time line, then the mohali move will indeed help (in terms of ranking as well). Also, I guess the lowered place in the ranking chart might help ISB to cut out any sense of complacency that might have set in.

Hence I would say, lets not be pessimistic right away and hope for 2 things : 1) Isb does better 2) we get in.

Cheers,
Avi.

@goldhunter80 - Just curious. Why does it surprise you that Nanyang or IE should score high?. So while I can understand the disappointment with ISB showing up 34th( so am I), but being surprised that CUHK or Nanyang or IE business school have scored high is quite surprising. Nanyang or IE business school is quite prestigious. And a lot of things are factored into these rankings.

In the rankings are they considering the PGPEX program for IIM A ? Any clues anybody?

I am from Mumbai and I just got an interview call for 5th Feb. My interview is in the afternoon. Is it recommended that I travel the day before to Hyderabad ? or would it be okay if I flew in on 5th morning ?

@ars123 Congrats and ATB!

Can you share your profile?

Thank you

Congrats on your interview call :)

It is better if you travel a day before. Don't get into a cramp schedule on the day of interview.
@ars123 - Congrats dude! Good luck.

IIM A PGPX is 26th. Dropped from 16th to 26th
@Kode_A I got that... Sorry I probably should rephrase my question. What I wanted to know whether this ranking is based on the PGPEX program or their 2 year PGP.
