@Rajat_S said:I know this is late and won't add much value to most of the people here, but still. I had my interview yesterday and here is my debrief -There were about 20-25 candidates interviewing that day (including 2 fellow puys). Most of them were from IT background from what I sensed. The word I was given was 'Sanity'.The panel I got had 3 senior alums (none from an IT background). Here are the interview questions -- Pleasantries, introduction, about my journey from Bangalore.- Why did you choose that e-mail ID? - Tell us about yourself- How are you different from other IT applicants?- Critically evaluate the iPad and let us know what you think. -Which phone do you have and how would your views on the merits/demerits -Tell us about a really challenging situation that you faced. They weren't too convinced with my answer and grilled a quite bit on this. Eventually, I guess I was able to communicate my point (or they just gave up)- Why CFA?- Tell us about a recent leadership role that you have taken- About an international internship that I did in college.- Why did you go there?- What is the economic scenario there- What are the major advantages that country has- What does your company do?- About my product- How is the competition?- 2 strengths and 2 challenges for your company?- Market sizing estimation to launch an existing product (in India)Lasted for about 30-35 minutes and then I asked a few questions. No standard questions like - Why MBA, why now? Future goals? Why ISB? etc.Takeaways-- Take mocks. They help a LOT! There were about 3-4 questions there which I had practiced during mocks.- Know you industry and the business around that. Facts, figures, general news, anything that you quote.- Have an open mind. There will certainly be questions which you never expected.- Examples, examples and examples (Vidya Balan style! ) wherever you can quote to support a claim.
hi
i am a R2 ISB aspirant
gmat score - 700
IT - 7.5 years - development and management
by the latest posts, it seems i too am dinged for this year.
being a female candidate this was my only chance :(
puys, as there are so many IT people here, would want to ask
what can i do to move in to the managerial side of the system.
i wanted to make a switch hence was targetting ISB and SP one year.
from SP was dinged because of low coll score
and from ISB- dunnot knwo the reason yet...
please give some suggestions
Guys, just a question to all in general. ISB has its merits, especially in the consulting side. But which is better, IIMA /C PGPX or ISB with people for more than 6 years of workex?
@Kode_A
All the deadlines for this year have been closed now.
no chances now
I do not think of any chances of getting a mba college now :(

Lets discuss something better.
Is there any comprehensive summary of the profiles who got selected in R1 (or in Co2013)....so that one can match one's profile against it and at least have some vicarious solace?
12 DAYS TO GO !!
It would be awesome if ISB surprises us, we are all expecting the results on 15th and if they declare them all on 14th.....would save a lot of collective tirade and misery on our end.....ahh wistful thinking!
If ISB doesnt work out this year, whats your plan B puys?
I dont have a plan B right now and was wondering what next if ISB doesnt happen..
